Orbital polisher is your friend. Here in the midwest all our trails are pinstripe haven and owning a black jeep the branches are the obstacles, not the huge rocks.

Took the RTT down and we cruised around the whole weekend.
And came up with a ghetto wind deflector for the gobi rack, yay it works my wife and i can hear each other now even with the top down. Mpg seems better but maybe we were just driving slow.

Chippewa National Forest MN, we had the whole campground to ourselves plus the camp host. Lots of dispersed campsites within the forest but the campgrounds offer the best views, can't beat that.
Also use a Magma 7pc, and always have a 'disposable' teflon pan since we tend to cook a bunch of sticky stuff for breakfast.
I always check out cast irons but it's pretty heavy to lug all the time so i haven't
I think deciding between the two boils down on whether you or your wife cares about what makes a Jeep -- read -- it is not a practical buy but more of an emotional buy. If you don't care for all that then I'd go for a 4Runner (or Taco). Anyways, a lot of folks buy jeeps with the thought that...
i got an older northface tadpole, still good as new and my kids will likely inherit that. I've recently bought a hammock (the cheap one) for occasional use and the few times i've used it i actually like it so i plan to sleep there next time (my wife and 2 kids get the RTT).
A gobi rack with the detachable crossbars, the tent is permanently mounted to the crossbars. 4-bolts, the hard part is moving the tent in and out. I rigged a hoist but it's still a lot of work.

The QC on this jeeps are disappointing. I havent had any issues with mine if anything the paint quality (thin) is not the best and i've read a lot of stories with undersprayed areas.
I am lucky no leaks with Either hardtop or softop. My guess is the leak issue is more on the body/door fitment...
We have brats for dinner and i was gonna grill it on the firepit. Well i barely got the fire going and it started raining on me. We ate a little bit past dinner time. Do i use it, yeah, but i won't totally rely on it.
I don't stay away from them, always have foil and i make sure the grill...
ah yeah the payload is definitely not good on the Jeep. But again I don't think those folks on the Jeep design board don't have that high in their list. When people think Jeep, they see 4-wheel crawling, 35" tires, 3" lift, flex/articulation, topdown... it just doesn't have the expedition...
so i've only used it last weekend, but during that time, it got exposed to cold and rain. It performed really well.
the good:
- for the price you get the annex with heavy duty flooring, and the tent itself is no different than the other brands, i.e. all the same features you see on a Tepui or...
Finally mounted the RTT, and with decent weather we headed out for an overnight at a nearby state park.
Overnight was high 30s and the kids and wife are toasty upstairs. I am running a MrBuddy heater downstairs at low. Rain as we woke up so we got all the cooking and breakfast downstairs...
