I like to do campfire pizzas.
What you'll need:
Naan bread
Pizza sauce or BBQ Sauce
Cheese of your liking
Toppings of your choice
Create your pizza and you can either cook on a grate and use a foil sheet overtop to radiate heat to melt the cheese or my new favourite method of folding the...
Was recently out doing a trail clean up and I gathered some interesting around the use of the area and was curious as to what the rest of you would do,
The road is public, 'no exit', no winter maintenance.
The trail exists in the local offroad associations trail index
The area is also said to...
4Runner would be a great vehicle since its so capable on offroad tracks with little to no modifications. They have good fuel economy considering their size and have pretty low maintenance costs for something that is known to run for 250k miles easy.
Ive got 265 70 r17 At2s on my 4Runner and I love them. Much quieter than my old duratracs and definitely cheaper than the ever so common Ko2s these days.
I like the concept of 'under powered over axled' especially for more offroad travel. Obviously thats not always effective if youre trying to cover larger obstacles but its a good theory to break less parts.
Typically I arrive in camp earlier in the day and have lots of time for set up.
My order goes something along the lines of:
Quick snack
Set up tent and sleep system
Water/filtration
Firewood or fire pit fixes
Dinner
Fire.
Whats your order of operations?
I enjoy keeping my vehicle dirty on the outside so people can tell that the offroad tires arent for nothing..
Today I washed my 4runner and BOY does it look good clean.
What do you prefer and why?
First off I want to thank the members from OB for coming out to the trail clean up. We connected with other local groups such as Ontario Federation of Four Wheel Drive, Ontario Overland and Southern Ontario 4x4. We made a huge dent in the status of Swift Rapids Rd and Long Lake trail. If anyone...
Looks like we may encounter a little sprinkle of rain but not enough to keep me away.
For those of you coming, we will be meeting at a small circular parking lot on the west (left) side of the rd right where swift rapids rd begins. Ill plan to be there early so you should see my 4Runner on...
Secure loads inside your vehicle and especially outside and on the roof. Im not keen on the whole hilift and shovels on the hood, roof or tailgate as it is but this gives me another reason to abstain.
Be safe everyone.
Agree with Facebook groups, good for discussing trails and finding more people to explore with.
IOverlander APP is good and crowd sourced so you can get information as well as provide more.
Google maps
Crown Land Atlas or BLM website/guide.
Trust your gut. If you're worried about something like getting stuck or injury etc.. its probably time to turn around and come back with a buddy.
I don't have any actual instances of these lessons because I practice them.
I think the key to gaining a social media presence is a fine balance between quality and consistency... noone wants to see a bunch of shitty pictures on their instagram page but on the other hand having one kick ass photo twice a year isnt a great solution either.
Go out on trips and take a LOAD...
Wow
Nice repair! Its awesome seeing people working on the trails they use, hopefully those people that passed by and saw the work you had done will take it on themselves to put in some sweat-equity on the next trail obstruction they come across.
If you gotta do it on the trail, go off the trail, lean up against a tree and poop into a little hole, cover it up and put a rock on top.
I second or third or whatever we're at for baby wipes, theyre very handy.
