Glad that worked out for you. You always have to be really careful when buying from owners, half of them don't have a clue about what they have, and some just lie.
I've got a smitty built xrc 9500. I've pulled 3 full sized bogged recoveries, a few light pulls, and I've moved more 200-2000 lbs boulders (on my property) than I can count. Never had a second thought. I"ve had the winch 5 years now.
most of the little cargo carriers are rater around 500 lbs, and if you're really worried about clearances, there are adapters to raise up another receiver. Like this stuff.

This is an easily over looked point. I've spent my share of nights "camped" in my truck to avoid hotels while traveling. Many vehicles have semi fixed seat belt buckles, or child seat latches which are super uncomfortable. A good sleeping pad will help level things out. And always be cognizant...
