I like how its for "your friends"
what type of camping are you going for? don't forget to account for the site gear, tents, cooking, and sleeping. Good storage options make things easy.
This is dead on. If you're going to be relying on electricity for light, make sure you have a good back up. Spare AA's or a travel charger battery can go a long way, and are simpler to replace then fuel and light bags.
I have a mount from Iottie for my truck, which uses a semi sticky suction cup. I've bounced it all around and it never let go of my phone or lost its suction. and they're not really expensive. On my motorcycles I use something closer to the ram mount, where the drop is far more costly.
Did you ever get a new compact battery? I have an XP-10 and I really like it. I jumped a 402 V8, 50 F ambient temp, and it spun like a brand new full size battery.
Welcome! if you like the rocky trails you might want to consider a body lift or rock sliders. Your Honda looks a really good shape, but Colorado can fix that quick.
Phone, stand along GPS, tablet, and emergency charger/jumper battery. I have the XP-10 and its nice to be able to charge whatever and keep it with you. I still only have a single truck battery, so its my insurance.
I don't like buying from friends because of all the potential hang ups, price negotiations, if issues arise shortly after purchase, etc. but if you're proceeding I'd stick closer to $5k on that Jeep.
I don't really keep a camp site, preferring to stay mobile with everything staying in the truck. so when I stop touring/wheeling:
1. debate which can to open for dinner
2. pick which layers to sleep in/under
3. think about how I should get a mobile fire set up ( I just really like watching fire)
TrexTerra nailed this one, similar tools with different uses. I've got a hi-lift on my truck and jeep, and 3 floor jacks (1 larger and 2 smaller ones) at home. I do like the look of the recovery kit that safe jack offers. that may make it onto my wish list.
I've got two of these guys. the suction cup material is semi sticky. Even though my truck shakes it still holds!

Great thing about texas is all the public land that you can tour on. Get out and see what you Need. We took my wifes stock 1500 Silverado lots of places with nothing but a set of BFG A/T tires. It's easy to get caught up in the excitement and go overboard. I've focused more on getting places...
Since I'm almost always in an area that's relatively new to me, I use the interwebs to find places to go. Do some light reading and go check it out. You can easily spend more time on the computer than on the trails, so I try not to get too bogged down. If if doesn't work out, closed/damaged...
Looks good, but at that price I would be worried about quality. There are a lot of bumper companies popping up all over these days, and not everyone is making the best product they can.
