I don't have a lot of photos of Clifford rock crawling through the boulders because... Well, I don't rock crawl through the boulders. :grimacing: Clifford is a little too long, a little too low, and that big fuel tank grabs rocks a little too well.
I would say that there are some plus's and...
Handy dandy $5 valve stem extensions that function as my air down tool.
Just remove the valve from the extension and thread it on. Check pressure once in a while as the pressure drops.
I’ve done it twice now... Well once and a half really.
2013 tundra I put a transfer flow tank in it and increased fuel capacity to 175L (45gallons). It’s the best/worst mod ever.
Best in that I can drive around 700 or 800km (500ish miles) on a tank. That’s roughly double what I could do...
I use a diamondback truck cover with an extension. The extension is for when I have bikes on, and then I push the rails for the extension in a bit and mount my roof top tent on it.
Being -22°F here right now, I find this timely. [emoji846]
Winter front on your vehicle. I have a small canvas tarp that goes under the hood in front of the radiator. Helps the engine get and stay up to temperature.
Watch your temp gauges closely. If something freezes off it’ll heat up in a...
Oh right. I didn't say much about trails. Sorry. And I was just busting your giblets about the Calgary, BC thing. I know you meant Calgary then off to BC.
Crowsnest pass has a ton of good trail. You could follow the forestry trunk road (FTR) from Crowsnest pass to Highway 40 if you liked...
Well welcome to Canada. Assuming you get here that is. [emoji846]
Canadian tips:
1. A loonie is a $1 coin and a toonie is a $2 coin. Don’t ask why.
2. Calgary is in Alberta (AB). And colder than BC. It’s also flatter and browner.
3. Gas is expensive and measured in Litres. Distance is in...
Now that I can drive more than 300km without stopping at a gas station… I really need a larger fuel tank.
But anyway. Time for another sale item.
In my humble opinion, lockers make a HUGE difference off-road. For my money, it’s kind of a must have. I am leery about locking the front Dana...
Next I needed bumpers! And a winch. Can’t not have a winch. I’m too lazy to push when I get stuck.
One thing I’m not a huge fan of is the fuel range in a Jeep. With the 19gallon tank my range is about 300km to 350km if I’m lucky. I took a 3-day trip in Clifford the other day to Kakwa falls...
Ok, so the lift is finally done and looking silly with mostly stock tire size.
Watching for tire sales I see some good deals on Mickey Thompson 33X12.50R15LT ATZP3 wheels and tires so I buy 5.
I pick up 4. One goes back due to being excessive weight to balance. I’m pretty excited until I...
The goal is a somewhat moderate off-roading machine without sacrificing too much in the way of on-roading. I want to drive it to some fun. Have some fun, then drive it home. To obtain that goal, I want to do everything I can myself. I’m not overly mechanically inclined, but I muddle through...
I finally broke down and bought a Jeep. Not that I have anything against Jeeps per se, I just love my Tundra to bits.
I’d spent a few years working on building my 2013 Toyota Tundra (See Clifford build thread in signature) but now I’m starting to want to do some more off-roading than just...
