I haven't been active on this site for a long time but plan to step up. I noticed you have an Xterra. I have had some highly modified rigs in the past, but recently purchased a 2011 Xterra Pro-4X and love it. I plan to replace the springs and shocks but with only a moderate lift. Love the rig so...
I love the OB slogan "Adventure is necessary." For me, it is a mantra of sorts.
I've had the highly modified vehicles and participated in my share of "overlanding" outings. Fun stuff. However, for me, it has always been more about getting into the outback and living the adventure than what...
GoPro Hero 3+, GoPro Hero, and a Sony HDR CX675. The combination does all I want and need. But then, most of my outings are either hiking/trekking or excursions on my ATV.
I ran ARB air lockers front and rear in my Jeep Cherokee and never had problems with air leakage, but the initial cost is very high. I think a preliminary question for anyone doing some sort of off-highway overlanding is: do I need lockers at all. For most of us, probably not unless you are...
Note...I feel like our map combine with the community will become the gold standard for locating trails and groups to run with soon enough. This is an extrovert wheelers paradise lol
Bingo!
Great stuff! Adventure awaits all over the world. It is forums like this that help us discover those other worlds and the people in them and whose heart beats longingly to the same rhythm as mine. It is a common language.
Yep, I spend all the time I can on the backroads and trails. Something is new over every hill, around every corner. Should I go right or left at this intersection? I hate to miss anything. "Adventure is necessary."
I'll waiting for the "more to come." Loved your intro photo. I have camped and explored a lot in Idaho (home state), Montana and Wyoming as well as some in Northern Nevada, Utah and Oregon.
Oh yeah! Seeing your world is rich. Thanks. I ran across a poster the other day and the caption was "Bringing home your happy place." Photos and videos can do that.
Yeah, I agree that the map could have disappeared after a short time into the video. Now, tracking your route from time to time in the vid would have been cool, for sure. I'm just learning to do the GoPro camera thing and so I look at a lot of vids like yours to get ideas, learn technique, what...
According to your video report, it sure looks like a trail I'd like to do. Video was quite well done, however I got a little weary of the inset in the map look and the speed up mode the whole way. The fast motion almost made the vehicles look like RC models at first. I'm just offering my...
Love it! I have a Chevy Tracker (Suzuki Sidekick) and it is a great little ride. Oh how I would like to spend some time in Scotland and particularly in the Highlands. Please post some photos or videos of that area when you can.
I guess we can all fantasize, but few of us will ever go to some exotic place. A simple rig, easy to maintain, that takes you where you want to go and gets you back is really all most of us need.
