Here is a thread I started with a link. I posted it to clear up some misinformation I have been seeing regarding solar power;
Solar Power-interesting read

How often do you move camp? I just bought a Wynter 90q, I placed it in the back of my rig and hooked it up to a group31 battery. I know it is not a real world test, the fridge was empty and I didn’t open it during the test. It ran from Friday at 6pm til I finally ended the test Tuesday at 6pm...
I have never been in a situation where a snatch block is needed. For those who feel they need additional anchor points might consider a more expensive, better built bumper.
For anyone with a Discovery. I ordered one of these, $447, free shipping

The hype and misinformation is what I was trying to point out to people. I am going to add solar to my houseboat but I think solar on my Overland rig would be a waste for what I do. As I said in my intro, I see so many overlanders set out their 60w panel after a day of travel and then get up...
Just to add some experience here, I have a Wynter 90quart. My auxiliary battery is a group 31 and is completely isolated from the vehicle battery. My fridge does fine for 3 or 4 days (depending on ambient temps).
Did you end up going with the 285 75 16 ? That is a 32.8”. I have 18” wheels so my sizes are limited and I have been looking at 275 65 18 which is 32.1”. Nice to see they fit. I have been running the stock 29”s on my disco for years (3 sets).
You bring up some very good points. I think there is a lot of misunderstanding out there about how batteries work. Maybe you could write an article for OB?
Looks like you are taking a good scientific approach to this. I see so many people who move everyday and put their 5 watt panel out thinking it is running their fridge and not understanding that 5 minutes of a spinning alternator crates way more power than their panel. Thanks for your posting...
