    Overpacking

No dispute, they're all great. I have an Xterra but @orange01z28 needs a 2 door JL. ;) -TJ

Very sorry for your loss. I think we've all been through it, and it's very, very hard. -TJ

2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland Build

No worries on the hijack, I love kicking around build ideas. ;) As for building the D30/44A honestly I think if you're not going too wild it's not bad. Sticking with your 33"s, doing trusses (and sleeves/gussets up front) and good axle shafts and of course lockers there's no reason that combo...

2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland Build

That's how it was when the 4.7 was still in it, which wasn't too bad. I honestly didn't get noticeable fumes in the cab, but still figured it'd be worth doing the longer exhaust w/ the 426cui Hemi. Haha, obviously there are times I think "why didn't I just do tons 'n forties?" I told myself...

2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland Build

Exhaust work continues. And I'm happy to report the exhaust guy is actually getting the exhaust pretty far back and out vs. just dumping under the rig at the end of the belly skid, as I expected (he asked me about the change, of course). Hopefully between this and the cats fumes on the trail...

    Music and Overlanding

I definitely listen to music while camping/Overlanding. That said, if I'm with new folks I always ask if they are okay with music before putting it on. My music taste is ALL over the place, but some of my current go-tos for camping are: Waylon Jennings Luckenbach Texas...

What's do you think the most impactful first upgrade is to a rig?

Out of those options I picked Driver Training, though I don't consider that an "upgrade to a rig" so the thread/poll aren't particularly accurate. I also wouldn't consider a first aid kit an "upgrade to a rig" but would consider it a requirement. As for actual rig mods the first, and most...

    Overlanding with Physical Limitations

Howdy all, I stumbled into this thread doing my usual sweep of "New Posts" and it got me thinking. First, I wonder how the OP is doing, and how their journey into Overlanding has gone. Second despite some other challenges in life, I have my health and am very grateful for that. Now, I don't...

Going back to a Full Size for my Overlanding

I just looked it up on onX and they rate it a 6... not that I give that much weight. But I suppose it was a bit tougher than I'm giving it credit for. A Jeep group had just come down while we were at the bottom waiting and they used spotting and I def heard some skid/slider contact. They...

Going back to a Full Size for my Overlanding

Awesome, and thanks for the info! It definitely wasn't a challenge for the rig, we also took a totally stock (other than sliders) Tacoma TRD Off Road (not Pro) through and a 3rd Gen 4Runner that's basically stock height on +1" A/Ts but is locked front/rear (I think he just locked up the rear)...

Going back to a Full Size for my Overlanding

Super last-minute trip last weekend starting at Jawbone Canyon for a quick stop Thurs night, into Death Valley at Panamint Springs on Fri and making stops at places like Furnace Creek, Artist's Drive, Badwater (lowest point in North America, -282ft below sea level), and a few other sites before...
