Thanks, I was heart broken but I've got my fz6 to fart around on if need. I'm not a fair weather rider either, rain, clouds and near freezing don't bug me much.
So major bummer today while trying to get the new wheels and tires installed.
Literally the last lug nut outta 24!
Thank God Discount tire has a great repair/replace policy towards this issue.
Bad news is the shop they use was slammed and I won't get my rig till Monday :sob:
Ok so here is a side profile with them both on.
Now I need to strip, clean and repaint the hub cover( when I do the front brakes)
I also identified that I need to file down the front caliper bracket a wee bit cause it's rubbing/binding up the front wheel from spinning freely. No biggy though.
I ran into this a lot when I used to autocross. It was the thing I loved about the beginner classes because as long as it passed inspection and you had a helmet, you were golden.
But once guys wanted to get more competitive, vehicle choice as a foundation was more important.
So it might be hard to tell but my new wheels clearly have a closer to 0 to 10 offset( no casting #s)
Vs the stock 40 offset oem wheels
Either way I pick up the last two from discount tire tomorrow :grinning: :grinning: :grinning:
Thank God you were able to walk away for that one then.
Your #1 point is same problem we have here with elk accidents. Though I've come across daytime accidents too from elk but not as often.
Having the led lights have helped me to spot them several times an slow down, before I would be damn...
So I felt like it was a mini Christmas today coming home to some goodies lol..
New locking lug nuts, also to help keep sockets from beating up the counter bore
New slotted front rotors and pads(not pictured lol)
Sound like a solid setup!
Forgive me I was referring to my own rig and not needing more lights ; ) there is an elk herd along the stretch of hwy I commute to an from work. I've seen several accidents involving people hitting them and I could only imagine what a moose would do :frowning:
No doubt it will be a "night and day difference" haha
Looks like they will be a vast improvement though for sure.
I think I'm running 8-9k lumins in my X and no need for any other lighting to be honest. Only thought would be some yellow led fogs for when the fog hits and snow.
I hear you 100% on vehicle maintenance and the like. Rotten rocker panels and wheel wells are not fun to deal with or accelerated wear to vital components. I was referring to the pavement queen/ mall crawlers where I live. A lot of them drive with an attitude like there shit don't stink or their...
Well it wasn't a rig thing today but it's very exciting! Got my paint in today and the tires come in tomorrow. Woot woot gonna have a paint fest and once it's cured I'll have em mounted an be rippin by friday....
That's asinine, outdoor shenanigans is the best remedy for this kinda nonsense. Fresh air and activities build strong immune systems, along with healthy diets. Not staying cooped up in houses. Granted I know for most areas, in the US, we can go on walks and what not but still.
Such a great find! Love me some "old" Japanese rigs, so many of them still running strong and extremely capable of adventures.
Alot of the new rigs now a days have alot of bling and technology that is useful. But you can't replace the experience of building driver control over the vehicle with...
