Research, recon trips and reaching out to assets in the intended area are important but half of the adventure is going into the unknown and seeing what is "just around the river bend"
That's asinine that he didn't wait there or anything to tie in with you for some form of compensation.
I got called out a couple times on recovery missions in the guard where the guys stuck or broke down were rude or treating me and my co-driver like shit. So we would pack our shit an drive off...
To be honest I have no idea what brand they are. My buddy an I picked em up from a local junk yard 10+ years ago, and they said they pulled em off a chev.
They have no brand or model castings and the factory sticker on the inside barrel was beyond readable.
That sounds like a nice swap, what...
Thanks! I toyed with color for a bit but figured the OD Green was fitting for the color on my X and being prior service ; )
We have the same tires, diff size of course, on our 4runner and love them so far.
Got the first two wheels/tires done and picked up today! Can't wait for the paint and last two tires to show up so I can finish them.
This is a misleading angle but yes they fit and not as big as they look *cough cough* lol

Not saying you HAVE TO hit the dirt...
Oh for sure! I had a prior service guy ask to buy mine when talking shop an I brought up the fact I had a spare, he made a fair offer too, but I just laughed and told him to get bent if he thought I'd sell it :D

I can't add much to the electrical aspects of your questions but as far as staying warm at night you can look into military surplus "sleep system" sleeping bags. It has two bags that fit into one another and snap together along with a wet weather cover too. All of it fits in a stuff sack that...
