Days after landing this beautiful specimen.
26231103_10209735777145726_7305177385628582613_n.jpg

Nothing major to declare as far as Mods go. I have focused mainly on maintenance and better lighting for my commutes home at night.

Since finishing up with the military I've been able to shift my focus back on more time with my family. Since doing explorations with my fam for amateur prospecting, transitioning into overlanding was a given.

Anywho, I will declare for patience on some things as most of my upgrades are low budget and built by myself or with close friends. In the works are:
Front bumper- combo of 3/8 & 1/4 aluminum
Sliders- toying with steel/alum hybrid
Exhaust- new Y pipe to tail pipe
Suspension- new shocks installed, next is pml and rear SB delete for now
Freeing up the engine of parasitic strain.

Thanks for dropping by

Looks great
Thank you. I'm kicking myself hard because I should have picked up the paint when the store had 5 cans, thinking no one's gonna grab any, on pay day there was 3... at 1 can per wheel I'm pooched lol other store have "OD" Green flat but the actual paint codes are different. Now I gotta wait or find it online via brand and paint code

Not sure if you have a NAPA auto parts. They used to match paint, in spray paint cans if you have the old can or color sprayed on a swatch.

Looking good man! Another 03 owner on here! If you're not on xterranation.com, I'd highly recommend you join up. The folks over there are super knowledgeable with these rigs. I'm still learning about mine.

Can't wait to see what you do with your build!

See to close to see the bigger picture, thanks Robert!

We have a Napa I used to go to from an old auto restoration job I had an they were the bees knees for anything paint related!

I've got an 03 XE with 140k on the clock. Sliders are on, made some diy cargo bars, mounted an atv box in between the rack bars. I've built a sleeping platform in the back, and have it setup to have a car seat back there as well.

Lokka and grassroots center link are inbound, and I'm doing the pml this Friday, installing the idler arm brace, and starting to build the rear bumper.

After that, I'm installing an auxiliary electrical system and additional outlets.

That sound like a great start, so many questions on your setups. So I'll start with one haha.

What's the end goal/ design for the rear bumper? Just the center redesign or going full width?

I'm up in the air as to if I'm gonna muck with mine any time soon or at all. Only thing I would like to do short term would be to integrate a receiver into existing metal center but reinforced of course. That way I can gain that exit clearance but not loose the hitch, I don't have any big tows in mind just utility/ flat table for various needs.

Well the end goal for the swing out is to obviously get the tire out from under the rig. I'm also planning on putting at least 1 Jerry can on there.

That will open up that space so that I can try and figure out a way to put either a second fuel tank down there, or maybe a water tank, if I can find one that fits.

I don't currently have a hitch, so it will also add that, plus rear Recovery points as well.

I wasn't intending on doing the lokka for quite some time, but managed to score one off another x owner that's currently doing an sas. It'll be a while before I get it installed though.

So got the first wheels/tires done and can't wait to finish the last two! These turned out just how I wanted and the excitement to get the last two done is killing me haha. 20200521_141159.jpg

So from these angles here I know they look "to big" *cough cough*

Once the body lift comes in and I get it installed I'll have plenty of room for sure.

Dude, those wheels look great! Are they OE nissan wheels? I like that design better than my 4 spoke oe wheels (which are coming off tomorrow in favor of some 5 spoke colorado wheels, due to the fact I need the mud tires that are on them this weekend).

To be honest I have no idea what brand they are. My buddy an I picked em up from a local junk yard 10+ years ago, and they said they pulled em off a chev.

They have no brand or model castings and the factory sticker on the inside barrel was beyond readable.

That sounds like a nice swap, what year Colorado they coming off? The recent years have had some nice factory wheels on them

Ok so here is a side profile with them both on.
Now I need to strip, clean and repaint the hub cover( when I do the front brakes)

20200528_192755.jpg

I also identified that I need to file down the front caliper bracket a wee bit cause it's rubbing/binding up the front wheel from spinning freely. No biggy though.
