I posted in another group elsewhere online.. but basically... no safety feature is more important than knowing how your rig performs and having enough practice in all driving situations to know how it will react. If you make modifications to your vehicle.. make sure you are 100% comfortable...
I took mine all the way off, but planning on making some longer ones that are quick disconnect for when I tow my trailer then got ride trails. 05 Sequoia, rear spring rate is currently 220lbs on OME 2860 springs with OME nitrochargers 60071L shocks
I'd recommend running a switch in place of or in conjunction with your reverse lights, that way you have the option to turn them on when you're not in reverse.. camp setup, etc.
Trailer carries 40 gal, I have a 5 gal tank with pump and sprayer in the rig and and extra 3 gal as emergency. Plus 5 bottles in my emergency kit and whatever we keep in the cup holders to drink out of.
I travel with one jack stand at least, but we had to stop at Walmart to get gear oil and picked up another set for safety. Plug was stuck so we had to fill it through the breather hole.. what a mess!
I must have only seen the first part of your post.. I haven't attended before, word is there are usually around 1000 participants.. photos look like mostly Jeepers, but good folks, awesome area, and tons of places to explore. If I were taking the long way home I'd hit up that camp site I marked...
Yeah, we took my rig down to Ridgecrest and snagged one from the salvage yard, they stayed late to get it pulled for us and left it out front after we paid them online. We caught 3-4 hrs of sleep and went back up to swap the rear end. We weren't sure if there were metal bits in the diff or not...
You're welcome, I'll try and find you Thursday evening, I plan to hit up Michaels booth. We'll be the few Toyotas in the sea of Jeeps. Hit me up if you need anything, my wife grew up in Hurricane, so we know a few people.
See attached KML for SOME of the available BLM and State Trust Land camping areas. Lots of public land around here! Most secluded spots are farther away.. better views in the Laverkin overlook area, may be windy up higher, they didn't name it Hurricane because of the annual rain fall..lol
Camping is allowed right there in the fairgrounds and is free. There are lots of other areas in public land.. but not as close to the action. What are you looking for?
