I just used my google fu' and found this interesting vid from a dermatologist from the Mayo Clinic. Turns out that a little dirt IS good for the little ones! lol
There is nothing wrong with being prepared in my book. Everyone is a prepper on one level or another.
It is just being a responsible human being IMHO.
Things like saving, investing, acquiring life skills like working on your own vehicles, life insurance, education, growing your own food, etc...
I personally have always (until now) had only old vehicles with high miles on them already when I bought them. I usually am able to get a vehicle for pretty darn cheap with easy to fix problems (makes them even cheaper) with about 150k mi on them. Drive them for a good while to usually around...
I may just doo that. So far I have just been using the free stuff on his website and listening to his YouTube channel on my 2.5hrs worth of commuting every day.
A co-worker told me about the first few baby steps several years ago and I followed them up to a point.
My wife and I have...
I am doing the same thing right now for a home actually. I put myself into a great position to save. While we are saving we are taking our time and looking around for which neighborhoods we will like best in what areas. Now that we have narrowed it down we are just sitting back and waiting for a...
Iconic Metal Gear
I think I found the ultimate overland option for gear storage in the bed. I havnt seen it anywhere so thought I would post it up to get it out there.
Everything this company makes is from marine grade metal and minimal 1/8" thick! Which means everything is also very HEAVY...

I think I found the ultimate overland option for gear storage in the bed. Everything this company makes is from marine grade metal and minimal 1/8" thick! Which means everything is also very HEAVY. However, not only will it last a decade or two on the truck... but you can...
That is totally true. You could still throw on some gear after a while and be affordable for most.
I would take a locker and some decent tires before anything else. Then later on just add protection where it's needed... on a level that is needed based on my personal uses. If I had these three...
I had my eyes set on getting a Geo Tacker many years ago. I thought it would be a great little vehicle for road trips/exploring. There is a pretty decent aftermarket for them as well.
I am putting this trail on my list for the trip this Summer. I will make a list and then narrow it down. My truck in it's current form is plenty good for this trail. I will just have to keep an eye out for the rear bumper on some obstacles.
No!!!
This is a link to what is currently my favorite YouTube channel. In this video they are out on a trip having fun in a $2,500 Suzuki Samurai, a $5,500 Disco, and a $6,500 Jeep Wrangler. Not a single one of them has lockers.
They were all having fun and in a beautiful area. This is all...
And... that is why I do the work myself.
Save money and I know it’s done right.
Those are expensive parts! You can usually buy OEM parts for 50% off at the auto parts store. Dealers/mechanics mark them up for even more profit.
That $1000 would have bought some nice tools and paid for...
Great looking truck! I can't wait to see how it turns out.
My only suggestion is take your time and do it the way that is right for you. Do it once and do it right.
And… subscribed!
That really makes my day. Knowing that I have helped out in some way. Thank you!
It has been a good learning experience for me so far on my vehicle. Might as well share the knowledge/power and make a single point for links to navigate through for myself and others while I am at it!
I have...
New EAG 2" Hitch Shackle has arrived and is installed.
I put a coating of Fluid Film between all moving parts and stuck her on. Hand tightened the shackle and then backed it off 1/4 turn before throwing on a test ziptie. That should both keep it from vibrating out when on long rough trails...
What things to prioritize during a build???
Here is a link to a vid of a guy with a lot of experience on the subject.
It seems that I am on a good path (for my needs). My truck came with a rear locker that is automatic and low maintenance. The Z71 trim comes with a Nitrogen shock upgrade...
