Jeep is looking like a winner!Got the interior wiring knocked out, got the tail wiring mostly done except for the grounds, and got the engine bay wiring harness laid out. Waiting on the copper tubing kit for the oil pressure gauge, removed the wiper hardware out of the old windshield frame, hand pained the Jeep embossing on the tailgate, and the CJ-5 emblems. You can tell where I was a little shaky on some of that lol. And epoxied the original worn/faded AMC emblem back on the tailgate.

Fixed it with new parts (bezel and lock). Then of course when I was completely done I noticed a spring was missing on the driver’s side latch lol. At least tailgate lock is fixed.Well, I found out why my tailgate all of a sudden wouldn’t open. Broken plastic clip that holds tailgate rod. Taped it for a temp fix until I can obtain parts.

Note - the tailgate pop luck has a one way security screw. Had to bust out dremmel and make a cut deep enough to get my flat head in there to unscrew it.

Wow she's coming along nicely!Water pump removed waiting for replacement. Back seat in along with its seatbelts. Windshield frame, windshield and wiper assembly in place, tailgate installed, finished up the battery tray install, the support arm that came with it was way too short but I happened to have another support arm that looked like it as for a fender that fit perfectly.
Installing that glass took a good chunk of the day lol

I won't be doing that for awhile if ever. I'm too old to have that kind of fun. I was wondering about the mileage because I am @ 102K and trying to figure out when I may need to have the same work done on my rig. I doubt I will live long enough for me to need it done if I don't start getting some miles on my rig soon.170k. Its actually pretty simple with the proper tools. The 52mm socket is the hardest to find for the spindle nuts. Luckily I bought one months ago when I changed the rear rotors. Just make sure you have lots of rags or towels cause its messy lol.

those plastic clips are a pain in the butt. had "custody" of a 2001 3500 dually a few years back (belonged to the Chuck my Burb is named for) and those things broke 5 or 6 times over the course of a couple years.Fixed it with new parts (bezel and lock). This is the first time I had tailgate latch issues since I took ownership in 2013 or so. I knew that it was kinda sticky at times but with COVID and WFH and always tinkering in the back tailgate, its days were numbered. Today, I also replaced the left and right latches so I basically have new hardware on all the main components of the tailgate. At least now I know how to replace all the latches.those plastic clips are a pain in the butt. had "custody" of a 2001 3500 dually a few years back (belonged to the Chuck my Burb is named for) and those things broke 5 or 6 times over the course of a couple years.
