What Did You Do With Your Rig Today?

I replaced an inner door seal that my dog tore up. I also removed the seat bottoms and headrests to make way for a permanent sleeping/storage platform. Next up is the sliding cargo tray. BTW. If anyone needs seat bottoms, headrests, or a sliding cargo tray, DM me.

Is that the seat backs laying down we are looking at ?

Yes. If you pull the seat bottoms out the backs will lay completely flat. Since the platform will be permanent I no longer have a need for the rear seats.

Okay thanks, that make sense. On my rig I have to take the whole folding seat out or its not long enough for a sleeping platform.

The seatbacks will provide some additional support for the platform to lay across. The platform will extend up to the backs of the front seats with an extra flip-up piece on the passenger side (the side I'll sleep on) that will provide additional headroom when the passenger seat is pushed forward. I thought about going the whole RTT route but it's just me and my dog and I really didn't want the additional cost or weight up high.

You could also try using some goo off, or try a little WD40

I'm with you. While traveling, sleeping inside makes more sense if you are solo. Camping for more than two nights then I would go to a tent and camp set up. I enjoy comfort and I can get it with a tent as long as it's tall enough to stand up and can sleep on a cot.

yes goes a long way to improving comfort levels during our hot and humid summers. I was also wanting increased privacy for the cargo area, before i start fitting it out.

Yess! I do "Limo Tint" on all the rear windows for exactly that reason...security!

Thank you. They look good in person too and are bright. They are also a cheap brand so if they get damage on the trail, I won’t feel too heart broken. Hehehehe. I’m doing the ones over the wheels next so there is lights all around for when doing a night trail and/or around the campsite if we need extra lights. They are also going to be on 2 different switches so I can choose from having all of them on or just half of them on.

My wife and I are perfecting our sleep inside mode. We are typically hammock campers but SHE LIKES ME! and wants to sleep next to me. I bought a 1" memory foam topper but it is still a little 20200105_102212 (1).jpghard on the floor of the rig. We have camping sleeping pads. On top of the foam I think that will work.
