@Lanlubber
I had a head gasket issue in December the head gasket was just letting go literally, I had no over heat and some over pressure, just enough to spew AF out of the overflow. I fixed that in the driveway under an improvised shelter in January /Feb great fun but nor really hard.
Prior to the head gasket issue I ran 188.6 to 197 ish with a grey soft open thermostat
I did do a cooling system flush post head gaskset just to make sure everything was in good shape.
The I noticed at hiway speed 188 to 194 climbing under load this was new but not serious, but the climb to 206 idling was.
In the end after testing everything the grey thermostat was shot, it no longer opens correctly. In addition the rad seemed to have to some mud brown sludge, found it on the SAI sensor so it got replaced as preventive maintenance.
I replaced the thermostat with a Black 78c made for the Td5 Disco ,I have an Inline mod thermostat that uses standard North Americian thermostats which I am still working out how I want to mount.
Beyond that my Disco is pretty basic
2 inch Terrafirma lift springs
OME Nitro Charger shocks
Arb Awning
Step/sliders - my wife is short
VHF radio Kenwood 710 dual band
I have an 04 so CDL included
Interior is pretty much stock remove the rear jump seat and 60% rear seat
I will likley do a build thread as the interior is changing a bit with the addition of the RTT.
I travel with a Land Rover group out of Vancouver a lot we average 10 trucks - Disco's, LR3's, Defenders, Series and a Cab orward once and while
Last summer doing a 4 day run - that is mine with the hood up - checking everything is still happy. Old Army habit, stop for more than 10 minutes pop the hood particularly after along bumpy drive in low range.
