That's pretty nice! One question, I don't recall but doesn't that have coil springs front and back? I have seen some pretty nice grands in my day. But most of them have v-8s and are very radically built. I'm partial to my 4.0 too. Some day I'll put a new engine in my Xj. A refresh would be great!
If you go with me during the winter the guys that had them were using them left and right. I got to admit they are handy, but so is a winch. Maybe after seeing them in action I will consider getting a knock off.

Because I'm always sleeping in my rig and building a teardrop style camping I think I'm going to purchase those foldable recovery tracks. They will double as leveling blocks. And they also have a lifetime warranty. (Gotreads)

Thanks it really took me two weeks to find these tires I was hoping to get a little bit of a lift because of them but wasn’t expecting 2 inches had to trim the front bumper a bit about an inch but that is something I had planned to in the future to accommodate a 33 inch tire after I do a 3.5 inch lift. I am doing some recovery HOOKS tomorrow. Yes shackles look cool but I don’t want stuff swinging around banging into stuff denting scratching scuffing things up so stationary hooks it going to be. I am not going to buy the bracket kit I think I am going to bolt the hooks to a piece 3/8 inch hardened steel and bolt that in place to the I guess it’s the sub frame right behind the bumper and have the hook extend through the bumper and bumper cover. It is a little more work but I think it will be a little stronger as well. I wasn’t going to put a roof cargo rack on but until I finish building my trailer I am going to need the space. So if I finish that by Saturday. On Sunday I will start doing the electrical stuff let’s see old school KC lights, fog lamps mounted in the factory position ( I found the factory wiring today while the tires were off) so with any luck that switch still works. I will also be installing a second battery, a 2000 watt inverter, a 15 liter drawer fridge mounted to the top of the drawer system, a ham radio, a cb radio, 4 USB ports, a 150 psi harbor freight compressor(I want to install a two gallon air tank someplace on the undercarriage) all the new accessories are going to be old school fuse and relay systems s-pods are cool but I don’t know how to fix them but I can rewire something replace a fuse or relay fairly easy. I know I am forgetting a lot and over simplifying everything but it’s late and I should be sleeping

Sounds like a good plan Rick. Wish I knew more about electronics so I can get the necessary wiring done for my solar and exterior lighting. If I get to go to the PNW Rally later in the year I'm hoping to get some help from friends there who are more knowledgeable.

Well later in the year I will have a months worth of vacation time and if you don’t have that done I will come down and help you out I lived off grid for three years only power we had was solar and the occasional generator at night mostly we lived off battery power and a 5000w inverter. Living like that is hard living because you are always fixing upgrading replacing something.

If I were younger I wouldn't mind the hard work it takes to live off grid. I always wanted to farm anyway but my wife was raised on a farm and would have nothing to do with living that life style. By the time she passed away I was ready to go too. Been eight years now since she passed on and I'm still stuck here. I'm kinda wanting to at least be a little radical in my last days, and let my grown kids learn how to live without me being around. If your ever out in the woods and find a worn out old LRD2 sitting in a ditch with a bunch of old bones in the seat you'll know it's me and can just leave me there. That's where I wanna be.

Yes coils front and back I am having issues with lift kits because of that everybody wants to sell me a budget lift because it’s cheaper and easier. Or they try to sell me a two thousand dollar lift. Look mr. salesmen’s 1. I don’t have that kind of money to put into it right now 2. Even if I did I wouldn’t because if I had 2 grand for a lift I could probably afford to go buy a gladiator my dream Jeep besides a Scrambler ( i probably could afford it I am just to cheap, my credit rating sucks, AND I don’t want the payments

Rick, an easy and economical lift can be had for around $200 if you can do the work yourself. I have coil springs on all four corners too. I used the 2" spring lift spacers and they work just fine. They are easy to install and you could do it yourself. It takes about 2.5 - 3 hours to install if you know what your doing.
