I've been a little distracted with other chores the last several days. Yesterday I changed the engine oil and the gear oil in both diffs with Amsoil products.
I did manage to cut, drill, and prep the remaining pieces that will be needed.

Today I finally got the passenger side slider tacked up,

Well, I gotta get the driver side tacked up, which is a PIA because there is a lot more going on over there as far as factory $hit goes. Then I have a few "extra's" that will be added to the sliders!
Weld out, coating.....it' gunna be a bit.
Plus, I will start tracking down a parasitic draw issue I am having this weekend.

When the time comes, would love to spend some time in the OR area.

Another day (like 3 hours) of slider building.
Welded out the driver side. Still need to cut and fab the rock light pockets.
Made a sheet metal template for the traction studs. Drilled half of the 200 holes that will be needed. :sleepy:

I made some pretty good progress the last few days on the sliders.

I marked out where I wanted the 3 rock lights and drilled the pilot holes.

Then I used a couple hole saws to make the rough hole. Then I used an end grinder to remove the remaining metal.

Then I fabricated the buckets that would weld into the holes and house the lights.

After I made 6 of those it was time to start welding them in the holes.

A little bit of clean up and a coat of primer later,

Lastly, I pulled bare wire through the main slide bar. I will use it later to pull the 2 strand wire through that is needed to power the lights.

Looking good!
I love your attention to detail!
I love your sliders Mike...
Hey, Thanks guys!
I didn't think it would take so long to build them. I am really trying to resist the urge to get in a hurry. The next issue I will encounter is when it is time to apply the bed liner. It is now too cold to do it outside, and spraying them in my garage will cause the house to fill with fumes which my wife is not a fan of.

Tomorrow is going to be in the low 60's.
I decided that it would be easier to just inform the misses that the air quality will be at a lower level for a few hours....Here is a pro tip...
Next time you go buy a new couch, don't just sit on it to test it's comfort, ya gotta take a nap on it!!! I love our couch.
