"No pressure" ... but looking forward to more pics! I would have liked to go but I've spent 2 of the last 4 weeks at Algonquin Park and Bon Echo and simply need to get some things done (paint) on my LJ so I can get it back on the road. I've driven right by there a LOT of times but have never been to it. I don't think you can unless it's for this event or maybe some others. It would be a good home base for exploration.
not sure about the ability to get in without an event going on.... buddy of mine was talking about renting it out for a media shoot for his company and said it was reasonably priced to rent out.
I tried to get as many pictures as I could but also wanted to keep moving and didn't want to block any roadways/trails for any body behind me. I was out on the read by 8 to make sure that I wasn't going to slow anyone down, only ran into 1 other person until noon when I ran into 2 other groups going the opposite way and I was on the home stretch of the run.
I wish I had taken more pictures of the fall colours on my way home. I took the long way and visited family and played a little more with the compass before heading home. took a route up around Burks falls, Magnetawan, and out to Ardbeg, then through Parry Sound, Orrville, Rosseau , and back to highway to get around Geargian bay to get back home.

Great pics ... and that's quite the route to get home!

During the winter we managed to get out and see some of the Owen Sound festival of Northern lights.

Then we got snowed in for a couple days. Still managed to make the trip north for Xmas ( which after getting half way there we probably should have just stayed home). We got 4 feet of snow almost overnight, which isn't unheard of, but I havnt seen that amount of snow all at once in years

We just recently took a trip to the Regal Point elk farm for the Maple Magic event.
We took a hey ride to the back side of the farm where they had fire trucks, crane trucks, playgrounds, hiking trails, Sherp rides, petting zoo, and a haybale mountain all for the kids. They also had pancakes and sausage and sold all kinda of maple products ( syrup, suckered, hard candy, maple toffee). The kids loved it.
The day warmed up quick and the field that everyone was parked in turned to soupy mud very quickly. We helped push a few cars back out and got a round of applause when our little compass made it out without issue.

I haven't posted much on here in a while so I'm going to dump a bunch of pictures lol.
Been busy with family. With 2 boys now to keep track of and things like sports and swim lessons, it's harder to get out as often as we would like. But both of the kids love camping, my oldest is getting into hiking and fishing with me so we occasionally break away for some father son time.

Decided to take a quick trip and finally test my trailer offroad. A buddy invited me to hang out about 4 hours north, however it happened to be in the area I grew up in, so I made a really quick trip to visit my parents and sister and spend the night hanging out with old friends. Another 4 hours to get back to the wife and kids and 1 more day to relax ( work around the house) before going back to work lol.

We even did a quick tour of the kjngston pen ( which last time we were in Kingston was still fully opperational ). And then did a bit of bar hopping with friends we hadn't seen in a while. Even ran I to a guy from high school ( odds of meeting a guy I havnt seen in almost 20 years in a random bar in a city 5-6 hours away from my home town?)

I live within an hour and a half of the park and it was my first time there lol. By next year I should be able to get my older son out back country camping and I am super excited for that lol. I know a ton of spots up north that I am excited to bring him and he's just getting into fishing so I think he would enjoy some of the more secluded lakes.

Depending on how much travel you are wanting to do. Hungry Lake/Granite lake both are amazing for camping and fishing.

Awesome pictures thanks for sharing. We drove through Canada on the way out to Wyoming from Maine. Whole family agreed we need to go back for just a dedicated Canada Trip.

I'll keep that in mind. I don't get out that direction all that often but I have friends in the area that I could make an excuse to go see lol. I did the crag lake loop a few years back and I enjoyed it. Had a few spots around tamworth I used to hit once a year but the guys I used to go with have all got busy lives ( much like myself) so we don't see a lot of each other in recent years.
I tend to head north towards Muskoka because I grew up there and know a lot of spots and can stop in and visit family.
