OB inspired drawer build

Loved watching Michael and Parnell build the drawer system on youtube, and had to build my own version. My old setup was made from a combination of 2x12's, 3/4" plywood, it was HEAVY. I have a lot of work to do yet but this thing is a feather compared to the old setup so far.

Behind the fridge will be my 2 125ah batteries and solar controller. The drawer will run on 54" full extension sides with a stove on another set of full extension 24" slides that will come out the front of the drawer. Can't wait to get more work done on this, and thanks Michael and Parnell for the idea!

More progress on the build! Got everything welded, painted, drawer slides installed, and side panels cut. Need to buy more hardware, some stain, more wood, etc. Not sure what I want to do for the top panel, I wanted a piece of 3/8" baltic birch but I'm having a hard time finding it (Covid...)

So, I'm not a carpenter and have never aspired to be one, I prefer metal. This drawer has been a challenge, it was ever so slightly too wide to fit between the slides. Which resulted in me needing to take a planer to the outsides and get it to fit. I'm not happy with the fitment, but it's good enough for me to test the concept out. I got it sanded smooth today and a coat of satin poly applied. If this system ends up working for us I'll pay a cabinet maker to do make a real drawer!

I think I saved it. The issue I was running into is I made the drawer out of cheap pine boards, nice and light but incredibly soft, terrible wood screw retention. Figured out what to do though, switched to 1/4-20 screws and got inserts that go in the back side. It works! Now I need to figure out the stove drawer. The inserts are in the way of where I wanted to mount the slides

Been swamped with other projects, but did a little to the drawer finally. Made the sides and installed them (the vent is for the refrigerator's condenser). Then started work on the top. I wanted to use L-Track in my build as well, to fasten them down I used rivet nuts in the square tube and will use 1/4-20 screws.

Almost done! Got a few more things to make, like a door to cover up the drawers, stewing on a fold up table idea, and still plenty of wiring. I did a lot better mounting the little drawer for the stove, it's actually straight whereas the big one is crooked and not the right size. Definitely will be building a new big drawer next winter. Also need to brainstorm organizing everything so it doesn't get thrown everywhere on the trail.

I pieced everything together over time, I can't remember exactly how much it was in total. It could be done pretty cheaply buy I went for all new suspension parts, some aftermarket, etc. Biggest thing is more travel.

Got the stove mounted, took it apart and installed rivnuts, didn't need to take it apart to do this but it was easier to drill the holes from the inside since the "feet" are dome shapes.
