If it is just my wife and I there are only a few places in the lower 48 that we will not go alone, In Utah, the Maze District, Lockhart Basin Rd, Hole In the Rock, Kokopelli Trail. Upstate Maine,

We will not go to Alaska, nor down into Baja alone.

My confidence as far as trail selection goes, lies with our vehicle. It is a 1996 Toyota Landcruiser/LX450 with 3 inches of lift and triple locked, behind that we pull a 1,500 lb trailer that is capable of going anywhere the cruiser can go. Which is about 99% of all legal roads in North America. We also have on board all the extraction gear needed for a self recovery. It'll go anywhere and everywhere that my old TJ Rubicon could go, only a lot more comfortable. Have a great day!!

Thank you so much for sharing! If you’re ok with it I think what you just shared is perfect for that thread! That sounds like such an incredible setup an triple locked lx!!
My wife and I want to eventually go to Maine. I think if we can’t go with someone else we may end up taking both of our trucks. I hear you can be pretty isolated up there and it may not be the best place to go solo.
How did you decide on those places you listed?
