Would any of you want to try for this Thursday evening? Do weeknights work?

I could possibly swing Thursday evening.... depending on the time and location. I'm usually working to 5-6, but could maybe skate out early.

Weekends might be better, due to traffic and how much everyone has to travel (and from where). But I'm game for a weeknight if it works out.

I’m gonna have to pass on any meet ups for this and next week. Taking a family vacation. But I’m down for a weeknight meetup in Prince William County.

I’d think that weeknight meetup at generalized areas would work well. Like Woodbridge area Fuddruckers one week. The one in Fairfax the next week, and another in Chantilly the 3rd week. Then a once a month weekend meetup somewhere in the middle like Clifton or somewhere far for all like Front Royal. Make the weeknight meetings like around 7-ish so we can bring family along for dinner maybe. Or decide to make it a guys night if anyone prefers to get a break from the fam.

The different areas would allow for pockets of friends then all the pockets get together. It would also allow flexibility for those that have multiple hobbies to accommodate them all. I really wish my daily life was more consistent that I could lead coordinating this but I’m typically available this week but not the next, sometimes at a whim. :(

I was thinking that or go down early and have a night and day wheel Uwharrie, too.

This Thursday is probably going to be a no go for me honestly. The week days are a little rough for me. Generally up early and bed even earlier. :/

Weekends might be better, due to traffic and how much everyone has to travel (and from where). But I'm game for a weeknight if it works out.

This to. Traffic around here is terrible and traffic coming back from the VA side during the week seems to be just as bad if not worse.

EDIT: Ok, I don't know about this rally point thing. Just shoot me a PM of who is going, vehicle type, and color so we can get a good list together.

How cool would that be, rolling down as a group. Supposedly we can pick up Trans Am Trail in Damascus to around Asheville. I was gonna camp in Grayson Highlands, highest peak in Va and wild ponies.

I just mapped it out on Google, and it looks like it's taking me through
1. 66 > Strasburg > Staunton or
2. 95 > Fredericksburg > Charlottesville

Going through Culpepper looks like a good route, but I'm guessing it's a lot of small roads. I'll ping you in the morning if I get re-routed towards Culpepper. Traffic here always changes...

So it looks like this weekend a number of folks have plans to head south. And I totally understand the traffic situation around here...have lived here my whole life!

How about this, if anyone wants to meet up tomorrow night(Thursday night), respond back and we'll get together. Let's say PJ Skidoos on Fairfax Blvd....maybe 7'ish? I'm completely flexible time wise. Hopefully that's somewhat central for a few folks. If this works out and a few of us can get together, perfect! And if not, I totally understand, and we'll pick another time and place.

And I just replied to a couple of posts on here.......nobody was left out intentionally:) Let's see if we can get a handful of people together tomorrow night!

I have a completely stock 2016 4Runner Trail and was wondering if it is capable of going on the trail this weekend.

I have a 16 Tacoma off-road. Other than the sliders for protection, my truck is completely stock including the tires. I ran this last year and here’s my feedback.

1. The trail is narrow. You will come out of this trail with pinstripes. It is unavoidable.
2. There are bypasses for most obstacles.
3. The mud holes are where it gets tricky. They are a bit deep in some places, and definitely after some rain. Some of them you can bypass, but going back to #1, with the trails being so narrow, some other group may be blocking that bypass.

The last time I went, I came out unscathed with just pinstripes. From a clearance perspective, it’s doable on my truck.

So it is looking like there is supposed to be scattered showers this weekend. Just a heads up for everyone. Anyone have an awning or canopy? If not I can bring some straps and a tarp and we can do a makeshift one just in case.

Been watching.... I’m still a maybe on this. Kinda, if I do, I’ll just show up at the sheets and run with you all.

I have several options as to what I do this weekend.. and want to do them all, but that’s not exactly possible if you know what I mean.

We may end up coming back up to Woodbridge Friday night and leaving from there Saturday morning. If we do I'll PM you to see if you want to meet somewhere.

My rig is a '17 Tacoma Sport without even sliders yet, so you can at least rest assured that if you have issues with any parts of the trail, you won't be the only one! I haven't been there yet, so dunno what's in store. I'll just bypass if I need to. I got nothing to prove. ;)

Also by the way, @DRJ @AG Sheep , I'm still running the stock all-season tires, so the muddy spots may get...tricky...I'll have my tow strap, hopefully someone has a winch just in case...

I always have a couple tarps and handful of straps in the truck. I'd bring some of your own as well if you have them, just in case. Came in real handy when I ran Canaan Loop earlier this year and it started pissing rain on us.

Sounds good. I got your contact saved. That's a good point especially for the water/mud crossings; for those that are coming, please make sure to have a rated recovery point on your vehicles up front or the back so we can pull you out if you get stuck. I don't think any of us have a winch, not sure if @AG Sheep does or not. I can ride tail gunner as I do have a rated recovery point up front and pull people out backwards, if necessary.

I may bring Wilbur also. If I do, he can mingle with your pups!
