It took a little head scratching to finally get set up here. I"m old(literally) school and don"t play well with computers. We have been camping a few times but mostly as a group in our Jeep club. We've done a couple of solo trips. Our vehicle of choice is our CJ7. She's basically stock right down to the tire size. A little common sense and it'll go anywhere I need her to. Space to pack is a little limited. We have had the three boxes for a while. Room for clothes and food is at a premium! We've had a couple of issues with the weather changing. It got cold and caught us unprepared. We both have cold weather bags now that always get packed. Duffle bag sized. I'm not a fan of top racks. That said we'll be looking for ideas of how to minimize our three box footprint and gain space for other things.

Thanks for the add and looking forward to getting out there more.

Welcome! The only way I found to gain space without a roof rack was to build a trailer. I have a rack also, but space is can still be hard to have.

Hello and welcome to the OB crew....look forward to seeing your build and your adventures. As far as computers go, I found if all else fails, just add water. Glad to have you here...

Welcome from another old guy.

I get you on not needing massive amounts of mods to be able to get there and back. I ran almost all of the "hard" trails in Colorado on 31"s but got into hard core rock crawling for a long time. Now I am settling back to my life long love... exploring. Problem is, I have to go further and further to find new ground.

I have a family and live in Colorado but for the last year, I have been a migrant engineer, working on the East Coast.

Welcome Jeep Jack. I have to agree here a trailer does sound best for you. Just think set you food & clothing in hook up & go.
