Off-Road Ranger I
Well, that is the desert, and you drive down/through a lot of washes as part of the road. Washes don't run frequently, but I have to say I would be cautious if it were raining a lot in the distance. Flash floods in the desert are nothing to mess with.Fj80 toyman,
Thanks for the bypass advice. Are there other wet areas other than the lake and the Affton area to be concerned with?
That said, they're very rare, just use caution and be aware of your surroundings and the weather. Make sure you have an out when you're in a wash - left, right, backup, whatever.
There are no specific areas besides Soda Lake and the water crossings near the end that I'm aware of on the specific track.
I'm anxious to go and find some of the springs that were historically used by cattlemen/ranchers. I've been there in extreme dry, can't wait to see them this year!
