So new guy here to "overlanding" , but have been camping my entire life and wheeling since the early 90's.
Live in Santa Clara, CA
My daily drive is a 2008 Tundra with a few suspension and power-train mods
My regular wheeler started off in 2005 as a bone stock 86 Samurai, but really the only Samurai left is the hood and registration.

Hello all. I am a fresh newbie to overlanding. I turned 50 in December and made plans for a mid life experience. I am taking my first sabbatical from work so that I can travel around hitting up the largest skateparks in the NW. I needed a rig that I could camp in, so I bought a 2019 TRD Off Road 4Runner. This rig fit everything that I thought that I needed for my trip this summer and I didn't know much more about it . But much to my surprise, I discovered the awesome potential that this 4Runner has. I love camping and getting lost in traveling to remote places. I feel that my new ride can take me any where that I want to go. And I want to learn how to outfit my rig so that I can get myself into, and out of, any situation I may come across. I look forward to learning from members on this forum. I have alot of questions. Stoked to be here. :) W

Hi Overland Bound community, we’re Overland Bunch, a family of five (two toddlers and our cat) Overlanding North America full time for a year; including Baja California and the Arctic Circle.

We’re from Pemberton, British Columbia and we’ve been on (and off) the road since October 2019. During the last five months we’ve covered over 14,000 miles (22,400km).

We drive a 2007 Land Rover LR3 G4 Edition (Eddie) and tow a custom built off-road trailer that we’ve modified ourselves to carry our roof top tent.

We’ve been Overlanding for over 13 years, starting with our Jeep TJ on weekend trips and eventually moving up to our beloved 1994 Land Rover Defender 110 (Maddy) which we took from Melbourne to Central Australia almost completely off road. We loved her so much we shipped her to Canada with us when we moved to BC in 2012.

Beginning this May we begin our trip northward to the Arctic Circle and Tuktoyaktuk, NWT, driving the Dempster Highway and we are super excited.

In October 2020, we return home to British Columbia where we will begin to convert our Defender 110 into a pop-top camper to help us hit the road more permanently.

We’re super excited to be a part of the Overland Bound community.

Hello! My name is Ben and I'm from Albany Oregon.

I am not new to overlanding, but I came across your website and thought it was a cool idea for an Overlanding community.

I've been overlanding for a few years in a Polaris RZR:
RZR.jpg

I got tired of worrying about my F150 at the trailhead so I bought a Jeep last year, but unfortunately it got totaled in a crash about 2 months later:
JL.jpg

After my first Jeep got crashed I upgraded to a 2020 JL Rubicon:
JLUR.jpg

I've been an avid backcountry backpacker for years, but with my wife and kids were finding that overlanding is a good family activity. I'm trying to keep my Jeep minimalist, but keep my family as comfortable as possible in it. Researching camp showers (a luxury my wife has requested) led me to your website. Hope to learn more and share my experiences.
