Hey ya'll,
New member here, born and raised in Texas, currently stationed in Germany. Purchased a new 2012 toyota tacoma drove it till a year ago when I sold it after getting stationed overseas. While out here I managed to find a stock 2002 4Runner US spec with just over 200k miles on it. Have many plans for it, first hoping to lift and install 33s come July. See where it goes from there.
Absolute novice at overlanding, love camping but never done it with a vehicle, mostly state parks and well manicured camping areas. Excited to see where my truck will take me, especially in Europe, then stateside once my time is done in Germany.

Hello, CB and Erica Stevens, from Virginia USA, joining up! We’ve got a 2020 Jeep Gladiator that we’re still slowly fitting out, and which is also CB’s daily driver. We’re very experienced travelers but neophyte overlanders... excited to get started! Welcome CB and Erica to the OB community. I am a bit envious because I would love to have a Gladiator. As far as getting started, you have a great rig, throw the needed gear for an overnight into it, check a map for public land, pick a spot or a dirt road and go for it. Sounds simple, right? LOL. You can do it.

Good day from Monterey, CA. After lurking for a while, I have joined finally! I've never been much of a "club" person, but the community and information herein beckoned :) I've been driving off-road for roughly 40 years, although I am not a serious rock-crawler by any means - I'd rate myself as so-so in experience. I started with a '43 Willy's, moved to a '78 CJ5, then an '81 Toyota 4x4 pickup, and for the last 15+ years, my '71 Land Rover Series IIa 88 (Zony).

Zony runs on a 2.25 ltr petrol with an 8:1 compression head, a transplanted Series III transmission and transfer case, and stock 16" steel rims running BFG AT's. It's loud, cold (or hot), runs on 6 fuses, and is amazingly slow (6 hour trip to get donuts). Looking forward to learning and sharing...

3. I am new to overlanding for sure still trying to build a rig to start taking my boys out weekend warrior style. I am totally down to get into group/rally point trips. building on a budget and the truck is my everyday truck so it would be something I can remove easily. I welcome all suggestions of gear for me or my truck.
