Hello!

Everything overlanding I do is with my dad until I graduate high school, so that's what I mean when I say our car. We live in Oakland, CA. The whole family is very outdoorsy, but my dad and I got into overlanding mostly by ending up with this car about a year ago. A drunk driver totaled our Mazda CX-9 in November 2019 at a red light coming off a highway, and we found this great used 2013 Grand Cherokee, which besides being a great SUV for road trips, is pretty capable on Forest Service roads and medium off roading!

We are keeping it mostly stock so it's still practical for 80 mph highway cruising and running around town. We got tires (not displayed), and some protection underneath would be nice, but for now we know to turn around when it gets too technical.

There it is in Stanislaus NF right before winter with those old highway tires haha.

We have the camping part down from years and years of past trips, so now it's all about the exploring! We did much of Mendocino and Stanislaus NFs in 2020 and our first 2021 trip is going to be Death Valley. We're excited to learn more from you all!

Howdy all! I’m a novice at off-roading and overlanding but excited to get started. A lot of outdoor experience even if it isn’t recent enough. Setting up a 2016 Wrangler JKU for a camping rig and hopefully some overlanding sooner rather than later. Traveling for work right now so the Jeep pic will get posted later.

Location: Rigelsville, PA
Rig: 2016 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon JKU

Howdy folks,

Longtime camper / backpacker, relatively novice overlanding.

I've always enjoyed the outdoors but look for opportunities to get away from the crowds and overlanding allows me to do that while also bringing my wife and daughter who need some of the finer amenities in life.

Location; SLC, UT
Rig: 2014 Frontier Pro-4x

Hellooo OB crew! my name is James
Location: Bakersfield, CA
Current Vehicle: 2006 Ram 2500 (Synergy prerun kit, walker wheels, 37" Falken AT3W)
Other Vehicle: 2020 Subaru Ascent; 1999 Grand Cherokee Limited
Overland Experience: Novice
Why Overlanding?: myself, wife and 3 children have always loved the outdoors. We have been ground campers for a long time and overlanding has become one of our passions.
We want to travel and stay places where the average "camper" doesn't go or cant go... so many times we have been camping and trying to sleep while the massive trailers are parked all around running generators and music and chaos.
We want to enjoy the places we go... to get away from the chaos.View attachment 191893

Welcome to the OB crew, tell us a bit about yourself and your rig.
Howdy. My Rig is a fresh one. Also That is why I am here. I have years of experience in the outdoors from the Youtube Channel but Overlanding is a Vastly Different Beast as I am learning.
I own a 2020 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport SE 4WD. I do have a wishlist "Rock Sliders, Better Tires, Suspensions, and possibly a lift.
But to get started Its just an SUV with a Roof Rack "coming soon". Done nothing but ask questions, Watch Videos, and do research and what I need, what is a waste of time, and try to hone in on Needs
so I can safely explore some new places in my RIG without being overloaded with junk but can also get myself out of some sticky situations.
"I know it is completely bare bones" But Itll be a fun "LONG TERM Project"!!
