Hello! New member :)

My name is Alex from FL. I drive a 2019 GMC Canyon and I'm just starting to get into Overlanding. I have always enjoyed hiking and camping but more recently wanted to combine that with off road travel and camping. I don't have whole lot of equipment, just basic camping gear. Hoping to one day get a tear drop trailer. Here is my vehicle:

Hellooo OB crew! my name is James
Location: Bakersfield, CA
Current Vehicle: 2006 Ram 2500 (Synergy prerun kit, walker wheels, 37" Falken AT3W)
Other Vehicle: 2020 Subaru Ascent; 1999 Grand Cherokee Limited
Overland Experience: Novice
Why Overlanding?: myself, wife and 3 children have always loved the outdoors. We have been ground campers for a long time and overlanding has become one of our passions.
We want to travel and stay places where the average "camper" doesn't go or cant go... so many times we have been camping and trying to sleep while the massive trailers are parked all around running generators and music and chaos.
We want to enjoy the places we go... to get away from the chaos.dodge OB.jpg

Howdy folks,

Longtime camper / backpacker, relatively novice overlanding.

I've always enjoyed the outdoors but look for opportunities to get away from the crowds and overlanding allows me to do that while also bringing my wife and daughter who need some of the finer amenities in life.

Location; SLC, UT
Rig: 2014 Frontier Pro-4x

Howdy all! I’m a novice at off-roading and overlanding but excited to get started. A lot of outdoor experience even if it isn’t recent enough. Setting up a 2016 Wrangler JKU for a camping rig and hopefully some overlanding sooner rather than later. Traveling for work right now so the Jeep pic will get posted later.

Location: Rigelsville, PA
Rig: 2016 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon JKU

Hello Anthony, Welcome to Overland Bound.
I am the Northwest Director. @Ubiety is your closest member representative.
To help navigate through the forums, here are some links that can be filtered by “Region” prefix. We are in the Overland Bound North America US Northwest Region (US Northwest for short).
Overland Bound Meetups- is where all member generated rally points are posted in forum format for discussion of Rally Point and other types of Meetups. A meetup can be as simple as a group getting together for coffee, a trail ride, or a full in expedition with other Overland Bound Members.
Overland Bound Trip Planning- is a great place to talk about planning a trip wether by your self or as a group.
Overland Bound Routs: Downloadable- is exactly what it sounds like. Search, or share your GPX files here with a description of the route and POIs.
Share your Overland Routes- is similar time the downloadable posted above, but doesn’t require you to share the actual GPX file.
Overland Bound By Region < North America < US Northwest- is where you can find regional members discussing local events, Overland News, and general topics. It’s a great recourse to mete others in the regions.
Member Maps- a great trip planning tool. It can also be used to send out messages to members near your location, or a location you plan to visit.
Rally Point- a tool used to creat Meetups or send out an SOS.
Any questions, don’t hesitate to ask myself or your member representative team. Again welcome and hope to see you on the trails.

Hello!

Everything overlanding I do is with my dad until I graduate high school, so that's what I mean when I say our car. We live in Oakland, CA. The whole family is very outdoorsy, but my dad and I got into overlanding mostly by ending up with this car about a year ago. A drunk driver totaled our Mazda CX-9 in November 2019 at a red light coming off a highway, and we found this great used 2013 Grand Cherokee, which besides being a great SUV for road trips, is pretty capable on Forest Service roads and medium off roading!

We are keeping it mostly stock so it's still practical for 80 mph highway cruising and running around town. We got tires (not displayed), and some protection underneath would be nice, but for now we know to turn around when it gets too technical.

There it is in Stanislaus NF right before winter with those old highway tires haha.

We have the camping part down from years and years of past trips, so now it's all about the exploring! We did much of Mendocino and Stanislaus NFs in 2020 and our first 2021 trip is going to be Death Valley. We're excited to learn more from you all!

Hello All! New to the forums but have been off-roading and overloading for awhile. Currently building out an 1984 Jeep Scrambler. Not the best picture below but, I'm working on the blue one and still driving the brownish one.
