Where are some good wheeling spots up in that area?I know that back in the day, we used to go 4wheeling up at Glassy Mountain Landrum, SC and watch the hang gliders jump from the mountain top. That was a great place to wheel. Man, I miss being home and I can't wait to take my wife out there again and show her some of the beautiful places up in the hill country of NE Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina and Tennessee.
Are there some good campsites kinda dispersed? Al you dont know of any off road areas around there do you?I was there this past weekend camping. You can get to jumping off rock but no further. Enjoy !
So can you still drive all the way to the Overlook? Or is it just the jump off rockI was there this past weekend camping. You can get to jumping off rock but no further. Enjoy !

Is it open now? This past weekend, I was driving down SC-11 and stumbled upon Horse Pasture Road. Four hours later I finally made my way out back onto pavement. From what I can tell from the interwebs, this trail is only open during hunting season and is maintained by SCDNR. I only had to put the truck into 4-Wheel Drive once on the trail but it was still a ton of fun. Here are a few pics to share the highlights. On a side note, SC-11 might be one of the prettiest roads in South Carolina and is definitely worth the detour if anyone is ever driving through the state.

Yes - It's open through mid-January. The through route is gated off but you can make it all the way to Lake Jocassee. Definitely worth the trip if you have a few hours spare and are local. Is it open now?
