I think 192k is a decent number. Great you’ll rebuild her!

Geddes Racing Engines Jade's engine block up in the boring bar this morning cleaning her up nice! Federal-Mogul Motorparts is supplying all the replacement engine components & helping the rebuild! This is nuts! Jade is a lucky gal & I am truly blessed. She may have her quirks & flaws but who doesn't! I sure do! We'll keep her on the road forever! Hang in there Jade!

We found that the #massive oil leak was due to the oil pan gasket being pushed in (pic below). The knock was due to a bent rod which was caused by a previous head gasket failure that allowed coolant into the cylinder. You can see the uneven wear on the piston skirt from the bent rod (pics above).

Before and after pics of the deck surface of Jade's engine block. You can actually see the high spots in the #factory surface finish in the first pic. The second pic shows the surface @geddesracingengines put on the deck to prepare it for the severe duty head gasket. When you are performing a head gasket repair, do yourselves a favor and DO NOT use an abrasive disc to clean the block or head surfaces!!

Seem to remember that there should be cross-hatching at this point in those cylinder bores?

Or is this after boring / before honing?

Coming along nicely, good to have a sponsor for this kind of thing, it can get expensive for sure.

Keep the pics coming, this is good stuff. Video of first fire would be cool. That part always made me nervous.

Hey Jake, any idea on what color you're going to paint the block?...my two picks would be Jade green for her name and or your signature olive drab....:sunglasses:
