Family adventure trailer

I use some scissor jack style stabilizers, and don't seem to have this problem. Are you opposed to changing the type of stabilizers that you use? What's the distance between the bottom of the frame, and the ground?
It’s 17” from the bottom of the chassis to the ground. Yes I would change them - maybe not right now- I’ve been scratching my head about these stabilisers for a while- it’s a job to know how they will work till you have them. I was thinking about using caravan style ones on the front and mounting them inboard of the chassis-

This is the other type I was thinking of trying,if I can mount them where they can’t be seen too much and drill a hole through the chassis to work the nut they could be a solution

Got the chassis operational with the road lights and brakes working- took her for a short spin on the road and the handling seems to be great!

My fridge box is painted and mounted up,with the slider installed. The slider and its raised mounting takes up a fair bit of room, which is wasted space really,I’m not overly happy with this but its the way it is now, the way my door works means it has to be this way- i have lost 4.5 “ off the useable height of my box,its ok as i will use a smaller fridge. Worth remembering if you are building something similar though.

Looks good! Unfortunately, with the locking slides, this is part for the course. The only way around that is to make the platform flush with the bottom, so the fridge sits inside the outer frame.

Well,as you can see from my previous posts,I have reached the conclusion of my rip off taxa woolly bear build.

I initially wanted to build a Patriot camper style trailer, but decided to go with a woolly bear style - I like the open storage between the boxes and also i like the wings/fenders,which allow you to climb up on the trailer to get to the roof tent and the roof rack-they also make great tables and seats.
I made this trailer with a track width the same as the tow vehicle, the weight is 750kg without any accessories. The max weight fully laden is 1800kg.
Somethings to bear in mind- the two boxes make it harder to build than one box-five doors also make things more complex and more expensive. I have no exact idea of how many hours it took to build but it’s probably over 200 and the components add up to a fair bill.

As this is now off my bucket list,I’m going to start something else-an oversized shepards hut- if anyone is interested I will post some pics .

cheers

impressive build. I really like your electrical...very clean and well laid out

Thanks Grub, I wasn’t looking forward to the wiring but it turns out it’s pretty therapeutic when you get into it- and I discovered adhesive cable clips which are my new favorite thing
