October Meeting Minutes:

Attendance: 5 rigs and 10 members in total

Topics:

• Moving the location of the monthly meeting.
  • Meeting location will now be held at the Mavis Stouffer Park.
  • 1000 Stouffer St. Ripon, CA 95366
  • Start time of 1300hrs will remain the same.
  • This area will allow us to have more shade and bigger area for higher attendance if needed.
  • Feel free to utilize your camp kitchen for lunch.
  • Bring your chairs and your family!

• Mojave Trail Cleanup (Nov. 12th-15th)
  • Contact Kent Reynolds about being put on the wait list if you were not able to RSVP.

• Possible day trip to the Sierra’s (closures permitting)
  • Not definite date has been set! Let us know what day might work for you!

• Central Valley end of year trip to Alabama Hills!
  • Currently looking at Dec. 4th-6th or 11th-13th (both are Fri-Sun)
  • Please feel free to provide your input if you are planning on attending!

• Possible Central Valley Meeting camp out in Jan or Feb at Caswell State park!
  • Just a fun 1 night camp out/meeting with everyone!

November Meeting Minutes:​

Attendance: 4 rigs and 6 members in total

Topics:

• Finalizing the December trip (11th-13th)
  • Originally it was planned for Alabama Hills, but that will make for a very long Friday drive.
  • Due to multiple closures from Covid-19 and the winter season, the close coastal destinations are closed as well.
  • BUT DO NOT FEAR!!!! Through a group effort, we have discovered a winter wonderland on the MET (Mormon Emigrant Trail)!!!!
  • Rally Point will posted on 11/25/20
• Community involvement
  • We are looking to bring the Central Valley OB Group to next level and set the bar high for all OB groups!
  • If you have an idea for a community service or event for our group to participate in, PLEASE COME TO A MEETING AND PRESENT IT!
  • Some of the ideas that have been brought up:
    • Caswell State Park Clean up
    • Community parades
    • Toy Drive events
    • Volunteering at a soup kitchen
    • Teaching kids camping skills
• Future meeting Plans:
  • We will be setting up multiple classes
    • Recovery (winching, towing and pulling out stuck vehicles)
    • Trail side repairs (tire repairs, hose repairs, belt replacement and suspension repairs)
    • Trail side 1st Aid
    • Radio communications
    • Trail planning and mapping

***Please keep in mind that all Community Involvement Events and Group Trainings will be brought the Overland Bound Admins for approval prior to being put on the calendar***

Hey what's up guys I'm new to OB. I live in modesto and I've got a couple buddies who I off-road with, little half day trips mostly. I just did a 5 day trip up 88 to 395 and camped 3 nights in the mountains above carson city and 2 nights in Truckee before heading home via hwy80 and 99. Im hoping to make the meet up on the 17th and meet a couple people. I wanna start going on some couple day trips not just little half day stuff.

hey everyone i know its last minute but does anyone know anywhere close where i could do some snow wheeling tomorrow? all the forest roads in the 108, 120, and briceburg areas on gaia show they are closed 12/15 - 4/01 anyone know a cool spot. mild trail wheeling no rock crawling stuff, some of the vehicles are stock

Mormon emigrant trail, you can get through either side. Also 88 has a bunch of off shoots. I took Cat Creek road, east but had snow last weekend.
