Enjoying some trail running and camping in the Kofa National Wildlife Refuge in southwest Arizona. Beautiful, rugged and lonely area.

Great landscape photo! I was browsing on Google Maps the other day and saw KofA our in the middle of no where. I like your setup, is that the Overland Solar Bugout 120? Is that a propane tank setup in the back? Where do you store/mount the tank? Thanks!

EXTRATERRESTRIAL (2 images) - Camp alone in a vast expanse of barren land under exotic skies like this ...

and one’s mind inevitably wanders.

Go for a walk at dusk and return to see your rig against a silhouetted horizon and I bet you’ll feel like I do.

Like a visitor to some other planet, landscapes and life forms odd and strange.
Sunsets and colors rippled and raw, hinting at lands unseen.
Primitive, ancient, begging exploration.

Ha - that's the last two things I'd want out there.

I get camp set up just like this in about half an hour, quick and easy. I head out for a walk every morning around dawn and every evening around dusk. No tv, no way.

Sleep like a baby out there, it is so sweet.

I love my basecamp set up. For cool weather or hot weather, it provides great, easy-to-use shelter.

Playing with old camping calendar style images, the kind of illustrations you'd see on hunting magazine covers, etc.

Starts getting below 40ºF/4ºC, I get my firepit going.

Nice looking fire pit! May have to see about getting me one like that. I like how you can still feed from the front with the grill in place.
.

Exactly, the offset grill makes this a great firepit. I love mine and have used it for a ton of cooking and as heat source too, going on two years. Great for those places that don't allow ground fires but do allow burning wood. You can also burn charcoal in this thing. It's a flat pack pit, too, with a cordura case. Takes up less than an inch wide space when packed, which has made it my favorite, even over my snow peak pack & carry, which I'll be selling.

Eric, that designed and builds these firepits, has a new version coming out that is an even better design, with additional charcoal grate and less weight overall.

He asked if he could use my image above for his new website and page for the new Summit Fire Pit:

#notsponsored, but man I like his product.

Here's what mine looked like after I seasoned all pieces:
