New to me 2010 with 114k on it. Just replaced both rear axle bearings and seals, and did the locker override mod so I can use my locker when ever I want. Just getting started but have some big plans for this rig.

Got the interior pretty squared away with ram mount for phone/juke box and tablet mount for navi. Have an ultragauge to keep a closer eye on economy and vital readings. Just put my badges on today! Can't wait to dump about 4k into suspension and armor!20180428_182611.jpg

Well I got the rear diff breather in. While I was at the auto parts store for the adapter I needed (the breather is 1/8 bspt btw) I went ahead and got enough coolant to do a coolant system flush. I will probably go ahead and do the trans cooler bypass while I am at it just on the off chance that I could have a problem and then either get a larger trans pan and trans temp gauge or replace the radiator.... Haven't decided which. I need to hit a manual car wash and clean the undercarriage really well as there is a lot of places where I can see sand build up from the previous owner still... Also have a few spots of chipped paint I need to hit with my touch-up to stop any rust... Man the list keeps going. I got an assortment of tubing to see what I can do about extending and raising the breather for all the other gear boxes. On that note anyone out there know why from the trans and transfer case I have three breathers?

OME makes some nice stuff another one to look into is PRG products Greg knows the frontier platform inside and out and can help build a custom suspension to your needs and goals. As for the breathers I think the trans and tcase are both sealed seperst units and need their own breathers.

I am also now thinking of a sort of Frankenstein build I can do in steps as far as suspension goes. Been looking at some of the stuff on 4x4parts.com and may end up going that way. We shall see. As far as the breathers go, the front diff one comes up by the air box, and the one from the tcase, and trans come up and are mounted just above the bell housing on the back of the engine. But there are three and not two. Best I can figure is the trans has two? At anyrate I have a manifold built, just need to do the yoga to figure out what size fittings I'm going to need and then I'll have all of those mounted to the firewall...just a bear of a spot to get to.

I like Frankenstein. My Suburban's suspension is a mix of Rough Country diff drop and knuckles, PAC springs, Atomic Fabrication coilover brackets, QA1 coilovers, Allstar Performance spacers, Z71 rear coils, Superlift front CV driveshaft, and rear Bilstein 5100's.

Well I think I'm gonna do the suspension in stages, starting with the Bilstein competition kit from 4x4 parts.com. I figure that with the heavy springs should be good to get me started and the add a leaf will help with my current rear spring issue. Then I can come back after I put on my bumper and put in their heavy rear spring set. As far as today goes though I did the trans cooler bypass, just to be safe. I also did a complete flush and replacement of coolant. I'm going to be taking my roof rack off as it will be in the way down the road and I'm not very keen on it's functionality or looks. I think I am also going to be removing my Nerf bars as I don't use them and suspect they will only cause issues down the road... Maybe I can find someone to buy those from me...

Well.... I went and took off the roof rack and Nerf bars. Love the no need thing, but trying to figure out how to make the roof look a little better. Gonna try a couple different bolt and washer combos and see where that gets me. Also while hunting around on the interwebs last night I came across ruggedrocks who has the OME heavy kit for 1560 to my door, which is only a smidge more than the Bilsteins I was looking at so I guess I really don't know what I'm gonna do until I actually go to buy something.. I was going to take off my mud flaps too but decided to wait till I at least get sliders. Also me and the kiddos hand washed it and I got on the ground and made sure to give the whole undercarriage a good rinse. I need a girlfriend apparently...

Just sold one of my guns to pay for a lift. Decided to go prg advanced with the spc ucas. It doesn't come with a rear spring pack but the AAL should help my flattened springs until I can afford the OME HD pack and maybe some shackles or a block to match up to the front. Exciting times!!!

You were able to pay for a lift with just one gun? Was it a laser canon?

Well it's been a while, but last weekend I finally made it out to the woods. Accidentally found an epic route from my house to Ocala National Forest via mostly dirt and single lane roads, and did some camping at the springs. I am completely reinvigorated as far as getting this truck kitted out to where I want it now. As such I am starting to try and get one thing, no matter how big or small, done on it every day. Today I figured out a way to extend my breathers from the transfer and transmission from the top of the bell housing up to the top of the firewall. I'll finish that tomorrow with a filtered manifold, and then I think I'm gonna black out all my badges with plasti dip on Thursday. I have a list a mile long and while not all of it costs a bunch of money, I will eventually run out of the cheap stuff. We shall see how long I can stretch it[emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

I recommend a quality spray paint versus plasti dip if you don't plan on ever changing them back. Plasti dip is not very durable and fades.
I don't disagree... I haven't figured out how to reattach all of the emblems once I get them off to paint them. And for right now they are looking pretty good. As an update I put in some onboard air! I never realized what a difference tire pressures can make but I took the kids out for a long weekend camping at the springs and took the back roads all the way there. What a world of difference lowering my pressures made on corrugations and trails. [emoji3] The little single ARB compressor will take my tires from 25 to 55 in about 3 minutes a tire, maybe a little more. More than sufficient for what I was looking for.20180813_191021.jpeg20180813_191002.jpeg

Well I was hoping to make till tax time with the tires that were on the rig, but one of them started to delaminate so I got five matching stock 16x7 steelies, and I'm matching them with five MasterCraft CXT in 255/85R16. I hope they fit. I'm in the process of prepping the rims for bedliner, and then plan on taking them to get mounted and balanced as soon as they get here. Also I received my sPod SE universal with the HD panel. Gonna do an unboxing video of that one and probably an install video as well. We'll see.. I'm uncomfortable in front if the camera so I figure that's probably a sign that I need to do it[emoji23]

Well I got the new shoes on. Prior to install I did the melt mod to make sure they would fit, and to be honest with the skinnys I am not entirely sure I needed too. At any rate they look awesome and so far seem to be quieter than the nittos I had on there to begin with, but we shall see as they wear. I really hope these tires wear well cause so far I have been highly impressed. I will upload pictures as soon as I can, gonna go spend a couple days at the beach over the weekend and I'm fighting the back to school bug the kids have blessed me with.

Well we had a little mini vacation over the weekend, nothing huge and got rained out for the most part, but I did get to try out the tires on several different terrains. Got my Ultra Gauge calibrated and it looks like I only lost about 1-2mpg with the taller, heavier, more aggressive tires. Im getting 20mpg on my drive to work, and I can definitely live with that for now. They handle the wet quite well, have had no issues with hydroplaning or general traction at all, I'm pretty sure the generous siping plays a roll there as well. Took it down on the beach, and while the sand was pretty packed after the rain I had the distinct impression that I would have no issues in the soft stuff either. Have to try again soon. 20180903_192945.jpegIMG_20180903_194142_958.jpeg
