Well I have been pretty busy, but I'm not sure I can remember what all I have gotten done since the last update. I removed the plastic tailgate protector and replaced it with a piece of flat stainless sheet. I also installed a gas lowering strut on the tailgate. Pretty sweet setup now. I took a bunch of pics of my cab showing all the ram mounts and ultra gauge, but my phone apparently decided I didn't need them so here's the pics it did decide I could keep[emoji12][emoji12]20180930_193231.jpeg20180930_193242.jpeg20180930_193252.jpeg20180930_193445.jpeg

Well I got the new shoes on. Prior to install I did the melt mod to make sure they would fit, and to be honest with the skinnys I am not entirely sure I needed too. At any rate they look awesome and so far seem to be quieter than the nittos I had on there to begin with, but we shall see as they wear. I really hope these tires wear well cause so far I have been highly impressed. I will upload pictures as soon as I can, gonna go spend a couple days at the beach over the weekend and I'm fighting the back to school bug the kids have blessed me with.
I run Falken Wildpeak AT3Ws in 265 75 r16 on my 2011 Nissan Xterra 4x4 w/o the melt mod

How do you like the skinny tires? I've been having a debate with myself for my next set; thick or skinny.

I love the tall "skinny" tires. I say "skinny" cause in reality 10 inches wide is still some not insignificant surface area. So far I have e been pretty impressed with the MasterCrafts I've got about 1000 miles on them now and they are still quiet, no chipping, no noticeable wear, and ha e performed admirably in every environment I ha e thrown at them. The only thing I can say about them that is not a positive is that there is a pinched in area on the sidewall. When I first saw it it freaked me out cause I just happened to be parked with that spot on the bottom and it made it look way more pronounced, but upon closer inspection all five of my tires ha e the same thing in the same spot, leading me to believe it has something to do with manufacturing process, and to be honest it's almost imperceptible in normal conditions. Now as far as the 33" tire goes, I have noticed a slight change in the way she drives. A little more sluggish, maybe a bit more hunting for gears. I'm going to do a snorkel, headers, and a cat back and see if that makes a difference, maybe sometime down the road I'll have to regear but it's livable for now. We will see after the lift, and bar work how much of a pig she becomes....

I'm really glad you like them then! I'll be watching this pretty closely, especially what you say after you lift it. I have a small amount of lift on my SV right now; I'd love to see what your's looks like after you get it set and maybe you'll sway me to the skinny side. What lift are you looking at anyway?

Looking at a nisstec 3" gone Moab kit with some heavy ome rear leafs and probably 650 or 700 fronts. The idea is to set the coilovers at 1.5ish so they aren't too precompressed and going heavy cause eventually the plan is to get a habitat and do a full build out in the back....

265 75r16 was the stock size on the pro4-x. 33's are perfect in my opinion, I just hope the lift will give me a little more room for up travel. I haven't topped out yet, but there's not much room with the 33's and my collapsing springs...

So you are running 255/85/16's with no lift and no rubbing? that is awesome - totally makes me rethink the need for a lift if i can fit a 33 under my frontier. Have you done some decent wheeling to see if any rubbing occurs? Truck is looking great!!

Thank you! I have done some light wheeling with it since, mostly rutted Forrest roads and beach, and still no rubbing, although I don't think it'd take a whole lot to get it to rub on the top at this point. I'm fighting a couple different battles with it at the moment, the biggest of which is that my stock suspension is pretty well shot. Most of the forum pages I found discussing tires on the frontier said you couldn't do 33's without cutting away some of the front airdam and some of the fender in the rear and doing the melt to the inner wheel well. I did all of that and as far as I can tell I didn't need to cause all of those people had been talking about 285's not 255's... That said I have yet to find any rubbing scenarios, but I live in Florida where flex is not really the requirement most of the time. Going from essentially 31's to 33's I probably lost some of my up travel anyway, and I am planning on lifting so the tires don't feel quite so stuffed under the truck. I would say though if the suspension you have now is in decent condition, for 255's a lift is optional for most situations.

Nice looking truck! my buddy has a 2010 SE. He's on I believe a 2 inch front strut spacer and a one inch drop shackle (somewhere around that size). He had tried to put 285/75R16 on and they were no where near fitting without cutting. He does have a pretty offset wheel which was partially giving him trouble but I believe he is on 265/75R16 now with minimal rubbing.
He also has the Reese Carrypower UVenture rack from walmart rather than the factory one and it looks awesome.

Thanks man! It's a work in progress... The one thing I did forget to mention was I removed the mud flaps as well.... I figured it would be apparent in the pictures. However the 265/75r16 is the stock size on the pro4-x. I'm on stock steelies and am running the skinny 33's so that may have more than a little to do with it too.[emoji2]

Well I finally did a mod that is easily noticed... until this point, with the exception of tires and rims all my mods have been internal or at least subtle. I present to you the 93$ Ebay special snorkle!!!20181022_184158.jpeg20181022_184132.jpeg

It seems pretty stout. It's got some areas that are thicker than others, but nothing concerning. It's the one for the Navara. The o ly issue I had was the template was off a smidge. It's actually about an inch too far forward, which doesn't affect how it sits on the vehicle so much, but in order to make all the plumbing fit I had to leave my air box sort of free floating in the engine bay. I also had to do a fair amount of dremel work to get some of the pieces to fit. But I have everything hose clamped and Rtv'd and it seems to be working.

Well, preliminary results are in. With the engine at operating temps and parked my intake temp was at least 45 or 50 °F cooler than it was pre-snorkle. Also on a drive I make almost every morning I made +2mpg from my previous recent record. As far as perceived performance, it seems to be a bit more responsive in the low end, and cruising throttle seems to give higher instantaneous mpg readings. Preliminary results only, and likely influenced by wishful thinking....20181023_110417.jpeg20181023_110518.jpeg

Hey man, weird question and I'm curious if you'd know the answer (may help others down the road, who knows), but I think I found the snorkel you were referring to. The kit says '05-'11 for years (your's being a '10 obviously works) and I'm curious if you can think of any differences between your '10 and a '13. I can't think of any that would have to do with the fitment but I could always be wrong. Not trying to hijack your thread, just curious and hoping it could help someone else down the line too. I also dig your build so I'm here often taking notes lol
