Be careful out there, on Monday I learned the most dangerous trail is a busy intersection, at night, with rain and fog. I didn’t think I was hit that hard, but after the accident the transmission was stuck in park (automatic). Fortunately no injuries. The driver who hit me was very young and...
I love the Destination AT/2. I think they are underrated. I had them on my Tacoma and my Isuzu. They never let me down. They do lack a bit on ice though, but so do most tires. I have a new project vehicle that I will be starting soon and I plan to use the same tire on it as well.
The good...
I recently sold my 1999 Isuzu Vehicross and replaced it with a bone stock 2002 Ford Explorer Sport Trac. It’s not that the Isuzu was too small, just not near reliable enough to trust. It was fun, when it worked.
The Sport Trac, though a 2002, only had 80k on it and it is in near mint...
Make it black and call it something that sounds tactical and you could sell a 6 egg carrier for $39.95. Also include a subdued flag and a rip stop carry bag for $59.99 ;)
Mechanical parts aren’t really an issue. I have had to ship a window track and a trim piece from Japan though. Drive train and axles all share GM or Honda parts.

What...
10-15 mile commute, depending on what gates are open (some close for holidays). Currently driving an Isuzu Vehicross, that I like, but maintenance costs on such a rare vehicle are starting to hurt.
I am considering a Jeep TJ as a daily driver / adventure rig. Can current Jeep owners let a “never owned a Jeep ... ever” person like myself know what the pros and cons are? Thanks for any response.
We push our rides, even modify them to go beyond the intended limits of the manufacture. Eventually something will go wrong.
For the last 18 months I have been resurrecting an Isuzu Vehicross (amazing vehicle btw) that was probably scrap yard bound when I got, and it has been going well...
