Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
I will receive them tomorrow, but I'm replacing the mattress in my rooftop tent. I ordered 2 4 inch thick self inflating sleeping pads to replace the 1.5in foam mattress the tent came with.
Yeah, I monitored it via the renogy battery monitor on my trailer. It pulled about 10A while warming up the glow plug. Then it pulls about an 1A. If I have a 100Ah lifepo4 in the trailer. The heater will pull way less out of the battery than my 12v electric blanket.
Patched up a small crack in my roof top tent with some Marine Tex epoxy. This stuff is amazing, and I have confirmed reports that you can fix a marine engine intake manifold with it.
In addition to the fail-tastic attempt at a trip, I've made a bunch of updates to the rig in the last few months. There's much to do before we head out and hit the ID BDR next year.
First up, is I finally installed the tow hitch, and wired up the 3-pin anderson connector to power the 20A dc-dc...
For a 20k starting price, I'd rather have something with a composite construction. I'm not against wooden trailers (Mines made of wood), but I feel like there are better options out there.
These trailers start at 12k for the base model, and can be spec'd out. Top spec sits at about 25k, and...
A little over a month ago, @K12 and I replaced the radiator in Gamora, and installed an auxillary transmission cooler. Last weekend, we attempted to head out to test out some new gear. I had a diesel heater I wanted to test, as well as battery and propane tank heaters. Well......I had my first...
It's been done. I have the same size tank.

I want the fuel container inside the box. I want to try and minimize any leaking into the trailer. I know I can fit EVERYTHING in the rigid tool box (which is only about $60 anyways), that it's just plug in the power, and run the hose into one of the tents.
That wouldn't hurt, for sure!
Last week, while pulling the old tail lights off the trailer, I noticed a small crack in the hard shell of my rooftop tent. I reached out to Ironman 4x4 america, and the opted to just replace the whole thing! So, I ordered some marine epoxy to patch the crack...
I've decided I'm going to move mine to a more weather resistant case, specifically, a rigid medium toolbox. It should be a fairly simple project, and should only require a few parts.
