Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
It's probably just a high end marine plywood.
For interior drawers, I would just use a good quality exterior or acx rated plywood. If you want to get really fancy go with something like an hdpe starboard.
Thanks. Now that I have the fridge slide in there, I wish I'd built the kitchen drawer on the other side, so I can easily access both the fridge and the kitchen at the same time.
The reason the fridge is on the driver's side is to leave room for me to sleep in the X.
I suppose I could move...
True. And here I am, sitting on a box of ome 2in lift parts for almost a year, that I've not gotten around to installing yet.... Lol.
Soon, Nebula. Very. Soon.....
Here's what I'm running in the back of my Xterra. Vertical supports are 1x8 boards, with the top platform being 1/2in plywood. I've had it in for well over a year now, and it's been absolutely fantastic. Durability hasn't been an issue at all.
I recently added a DIY fridge slide, also made of...
From my understanding, it's anywhere from 5-10k, if you have it done. It's probably something you can do on your own though. It's mostly a matter of having time/tools. I believe it's all bolt on anyways.
Man, coming out with the big guns right off the bat......Respect.
Personally, I have no desire to TS my frontier, but it's not my primary off road rig. If it was, I would probably think differently.
At least with a TS, you have the option of being able to source OEM parts.
I love the way I have the battery set up in my X.
I have a 20A dc-dc charger built into my lifepo4 battery box. The charger has three input wires.
DC In (+)
Ground (-)
Ignition (on signal)
I have a 2 pin 120A anderson plug coming out from under the front passenger seat, plus an ignition...
I love it when it's a cheap fix! I started spewing trans fluid out of the radiator a few weeks ago. $10 worth of hose clamps, and a few hours later, and Gamora was all patched up. So I feel ya!
Thanks man! More things to come in the future as well.
Since I won't be sleeping in the X for the foreseeable future, I'm going to build an additional set of drawers that I can bolt on top of the platform. Hopefully, I can take the gear that was in the totes up top, and move it to the drawers.
I have the option of using my wife's 40mpg car to go into the office on the days I'm in. Honestly, I prefer my truck, especially when it's cold out. MPG be damned.
There are days though.
It all comes down to the configuration. Good on you for doing the math, and I stand corrected on the weight.
Perhaps the last time I was handling it, I was working with 15 or 20 series without realizing it.
Believe it or not, yes. I was originally going to frame my drawer system with 8020,but when I looked at weight and cost, it was both lighter, and considerably less expensive to build out of wood.
8020 is going to be heavy. With the payload capacity of a jeep, that's not going to leave much payload for gear.
Honestly, a good quality 1/2 in or 3/4 plywood would be lighter, just as strong, and take up less space.
Not to mention it would be cheaper. While I like the idea of a modular...
Welcome to OB! Most of us started out exactly where you are.
Out of curiosity, if you're looking at a full size ram already, I'm curious why not consider bumping up to a 2500? This would solve the payload issue with the 1500, and it's not really any bigger. You can fit a ram 2500 anywhere you...
