Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
I'm very happy with how it's currently sitting. I drove it to fill it up yesterday, expecting the rear to feel a bit stiff, but was pleasantly surprised.
We'll see how it feels later today though.
Yeah. We're doing it a bit different this year. It's just Dave and I, and we're testing our planned setups for the BDR.
We're going to be moving everyday this time. I'm hopping we can avoid some of the weather. Last year was fun, albeit a touch damp. This time around, I have the awning room...
I use the Ironman 4x4 water tanks. They already have a screw on cap, fortunately. I'm mostly concerned with water leaking out of the breather valves I installed in the caps. Worst case, I have two other caps I can put on.
So, I'll be heading out soon to test several things in the trailer, in preparation for our bdr trip at the end of July.
Testing the real world usage of the dual water tanks, as well as the breather valves in the caps.
Testing the rear stabilizer jacks on the trailer.
Testing the new table...
I finally got around to addressing some issues with my leaf springs.
A few months ago, my buddy and I decided to adjust my shackles to the max setting. While this leveled the vehicle out, it introduced other issues that I wasn't comfortable running long term.
To address this, last weekend, I...
I use an assortment of plano and mtm boxes. I have 6 68qt plano boxes and 3 56qt boxes.
I went with the planos because I can fit 6 of them in my trailer, and still have room for all of the chairs, tables, and other various items I need to fit.
Everyone I've talked to that has either the...
Replaced the battery in my X. Now it should be good.
Getting things packed up for the trip this weekend.
Now.... If only I could find my case with my SD cards....
Spent all day fighting with the passenger side leaf spring in the Xterra. We finally got it all out back together at around 7:30pm.
Then tried to tackle the driver side....
We were unsuccessful, and threw in the towel for the day at about 11pm.
I went back out the morning, and managed to get...
I travel with two girls. My wife, and 6yo daughter.
We use a reliance fold and go toilet. It works quite well, and don't really have any complaints. I also have a smaller flat pack toilet that lives in my vehicle, while the reliance lives in the trailer.
The Ozark trail (Walmart brand) is...
Well, I managed to get the breather ports for the water tank caps sorted out. I feel like these will work very well for my needs.
I've also been working on the modular water tank setup. I got it all plumbed up last night, just need to add some water to the second tank, so I can test it.
If...
We'll be running from pine to the Canadian border at the end of July. This will be the longest trip we'll have done. Solo, I would love this..... I'm hoping the wife doesn't hate it. And I'm hoping I don't murder my 6yo...lol.
I had a 2004. I miss the gas milage of that truck. After dealing with a faulty cylinder head, and replacing the hubs 3 times in 18 months, I decided to cut my losses and switch gears.
Though, if I found one with a 5.3,id buy it in a heartbeat.
SetPower aj40 is just over 17" tall. Rv45 is 18.8.
I really like the setpower fridges, and they're owned by the same parent company as iceco, so they share ALOT of the same components.
I do enjoy a good GMT355 build. I think it's the best looking truck Chevy has built.
Especially if you get one with the 5.3.
Though, the new ones look pretty good.
