Thanks! It's a labor of love. I love this rig even more than my Frontier.... Which is saying something....

    Memorial Day 2023

I think I figured out part of the cause of my battery issues, I think. It would appear that the positive auxiliary battery cable was loose at the battery, and the negative cable was loose at the bus bar in the back. That appears to have at least solved my issues with the radio.

Reaver's 03 Xterra XE "Gamora" build thread

Slowly knocking out some stuff in the evenings. I cleaned up some of the wiring around some of the lighting and power for the tent. When I put the tent on, I just added a power connector at the back of the drawer system, and ran the wire out the window. This worked, but made opening the door a...

Reaver's 03 Xterra XE "Gamora" build thread

So, with the BDR coming up in less than two months, there are some things I'm trying to knock out before we leave. There's the usual maintenance items that need to be taken care of: Oil change Tighten leaf spring ubolts Change trans fluid Then there's the modifications I'm doing to the...

    Reaver's DIY adventure box!

I've got a pair of Kumho Road Venture AT51 in LT215/75R15 inbound for the trailer. I have a different tire thats the same size that I can use as a spare, provided it holds air. Planning on checking that this weekend. My pre-trip list for the trailer, prior to the BDR is as follows: Build new...

    Ammo Can Fire Pit

We see some in late summer usually. We tend to use them during those times as well, but I'm with you. I prefer my old school.fores as well. These are great man! I'm assuming they're not to complex to build either. I'm not sure that I'd want to build something that burns flammable gas. Too scary...

FYI, for those interested, I have one of these in my trailer. Great tank. 90 bucks is a steal, so I hope somebody scoops this up from you! Good luck with the sale.

FOR SALE Ironman 40L Water storage $90

I think it would be helpful if you post a link to which tank you have. They offer so many different shapes (I have 3 of them), that it's hard to know if it'll work without knowing which tank it is.

    Reaver's DIY adventure box!

Just finished moving the awning to the trailer. I had to make longer crossbars out of heavy duty superstrut. I then took one of the original crossbars, and cut it down to about 28 or 30 inches (I didn't actually measure it, I just eyeballed the length). Next up, mounting the propane tank to...

    Reaver's DIY adventure box!

I feel like the Zion is a better value, honestly. I also like that I can upgrade it with their modular mounting accessories as I need to, and I can get creative with super strut using their t-track mounting systems.

    Reaver's DIY adventure box!

How big is your trailer? We're looking at going with a 5x8. It'll be a touch longer and wider than my current trailer (current box is 50x78) Tent setup on the trailer is quick and relatively easy, even with a 3 in self inflating mattress in there. It's the tent on the X that's more of a pain...

    Reaver's DIY adventure box!

I was originally thinking build one, but this time around, we might start with a slightly upgraded zion offroad trailer. I can then build cabinets and storage to suit or needs, and build the kitchen to suit as well. Typically, there's 3 people plus the dog. I'd be moving my RTT to the new...

    Reaver's DIY adventure box!

So, after much deliberation, we've decided that we want to move to a square drop trailer instead of the offroad cargo box. There's lots of reasons behind this decision, which the primary one being ease of access and shorter setup times. I don't know when this is going to happen, but in the...

    Owyhee Discovery Trail Route needed

Just so everyone's aware, the road that hoes over the mountains, passed Silver City was closed as of last weekend. When I spoke to the Owyhee county office in charge of the road, they weren't sure when it would open. You may want to call the Owyhee county commissioners office to check the...

    Reaver's DIY adventure box!

Well, I'm happy to report that both my switchable water tank system, and my check valve tank breathers work flawlessly over the weekend! We were on some rather steep and bumpy roads, and the tanks didn't spill a drop of water. Power and charging in the trailer are golden. I need to swap the...

    Memorial Day 2023

We finished our memorial day trip this year, and made it back safe and sound! The goal this year was to do a proper shakedown run prior to heading out on the bdr for two weeks. We covered about 300 miles in 4 days, some of them were very Rocky. Gamora did great, until Monday morning (but...

    Reaver's DIY adventure box!

Just a little pre-trip brain dump, for my own needs here. I definitely need a propane tank mount for the trailer. Unfortunately, my go to mount doesn't work with my second tank (Manchester style), so I'll need to get the power tank style bracket. I'm probably going to mount it to the fender...
