Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
Also, can you possibly heat the filon with a heat gun, and push it back down? That's something that people do with PMF. Apparently the glue gets soft enough to re-adhere. I don't know if it'll work with yours, but it's worth a shot.
I think it looks pretty good. The rough edges and gaps aren't anything that can't be hidden with some trim pieces. As far as the shelves go, it's simple, and I like it. Might I suggest taking a look at the front runner flat boxes. I can provide you with dimensions but I believe they're about 17"...
Well, in regards to making it up as you go, I'd say it came out pretty sweet!! I'd love to see some pics of the interior of the cabin as well. Have you added storage in there yet? I still need to make the cabinet doors for mine. I've just not gotten to it yet, as I have other things I need to...
No worries! I actually have a Lincoln multi-process. It does flux core, might and Tig, along with 110 and 220v. He also gave me both gas bottles (though they're empty). I just don't have anywhere to plug it in. My house only has a single exterior outlet, and it's on the front of the house. I...
@WYWander I really wished you lived closer to me. You could teach me how to use the welder that I have. It was given to me, but I have no idea how to use it.
Dude, it looks fantastic! I feel you with the Pre-made doors though. I'm really glad I chose to go that route with mine. It really did make life SO much easier.
Also, your fenders look amazing. Wanna build me some? And no, I'm not joking. At some point, we'll need to meet up in Eastern Idaho...
I've really only led one large group run so far. We did the Idaho bdr last year, and had two rigs from Washington join us, along with another from Oregon. The other Idaho rig had to cut out early due to what ended up being strep throat.
I spent months planning the trip, figuring out gas stops...
Well, the trailer has now been out three times. I absolutely love it.
We took it out to overland expo pnw over the weekend, and I picked up some ideas from other trailers of things I'd like to try.
It was neat that my wife was able to spot where some of the ideas that I incorporated into the...
I managed to find time to get my party lights up and running last night!
I also got the larger tires moved over from the old trailer.
While I was underneath there though, I noticed that the tires contact the forward spring perches. It would appear that I need rims with less offset, but...
I don't live in the Portland area, but I do regularly visit the Leslie Gulch/succor creek area, as it's only about 1.5 hours from my house.
Be aware, it's hot out here that time of year, and little in the way of shade.
I might be able to meet up with you, depending on whether or not my wife...
They make a waterproof seam tape that you can put over the corners. Lay that down, then use butyl tape underneath the trim (and anywhere you put a screw). That should do the trick.
Edit: crap, forgot the link...

Many things accomplished today!
Water pump is in, and wired up. Water outlet is plumbed. Faucet threads on, and works perfectly!
I also made a bracket to mount the stove box directly, without using the crossbars.
I also moved the awning forward, so we can now use the stove box and use the...
Well, I had the box bolted down, so it wasn't going anywhere. But, it still needed more support on the front.... So, the solution was simple...
I then proceeded to tow it 300 miles round trip for a girls scouts event.
Everything went fine, and, I found out that it added enough tounge...
Man, i missed quite a conversation! Keeping bedding in the tent depends on the tent, and bedding. I have an ironman4x4 nomad 1300 =similar to the ikamper). With the stock mattress, I can't keep much up there. With a self inflating mattress, I can keep a sleeping bag (used like a blanket)...
We started with something comparable to what you built. My suggestion is use it. Figure out your pain points, modify it, and you'll learn what you really like and dislike about that setup. Then, take what you learn there, and build a new one, and sell the old one to help cover some costs.
