  • Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.

Looking for recommendations for new tires.

That's another reason I like to run the 285/75R18, you can fit them in factory spare location. Most measure 34.5-34.8" tall x 11.2" wide so the height of most 35's but hits the in between of a 12.5 and skinny 10.5. The draw back to that size is it's not real popular so not all brands make it.

US Northwest EWOR: New Year’s Day 2025 Wenas Wildlife Area Snow Wheeling Trip

Like all of your trips I'm interested, but not sure I can make it.... Jeep is currently in the garage getting some maintenance and a few upgrades for a trip at the end of January. If I have it put back together enough for your trip I'll let you know.

Utility bed trailer: another build thread

Thanks for the info, I'll measure my ammo can to see which one would fit best. Really though, for what it's doing the cheapy Amazon one will probably be what I end up with.

Utility bed trailer: another build thread

Off topic of your trailer, but what little table is that you have your fire pit sitting on? I built an ammo can pit a while back and want to get it off the ground without adding permanent legs, also nice trailer.

Looking for recommendations for new tires.

That's a good price for a tire in that size, I prefer to run a 285/75R18 on our 3/4 and 1 tons since they are about the same height but a little narrower and seem to fit the stock wheels better. I've never ran Kenda tires, most of our farm pickups are currently running BFG or Yokohama. Have...

    The Tri-Cities Clubhouse

I'm won't be able to make it on the run this weekend. Have a bunch of things I need to get done around the house and have some friends coming over in the evening to watch a football game. I'm thinking it's going to be a bit muddy over there so will probably be a good time sliding around. Have...

    The Tri-Cities Clubhouse

I'll let you know next week if I think I can make it, maybe have you send me a PIN drop or the location where you're going in. Since I'd be coming from the East trying to save a few road miles to get there.

    The Tri-Cities Clubhouse

@Ceg I might try to make this trip if it's still on and you have room. Are you planning to go into the Whiskey Dick area from Kittitas or closer to Vantage? Wouldn't change if I can make it or not but would change which way I drove there. Let me know and I'll see if I can free up that weekend.

    2002 suburban

Basic is what I did at first, just a board with some legs on it so it was all flat and stuffed crap under. I liked having the flat surface to sleep on and for the dog so for a winter project I spent the time and built the boxes

    2002 suburban

The carpet is cheap out door stuff from Home Depot, they sell it in precut rolls. I think it's labeled as an outdoor rug. And yes I used MDF which now I'm wishing I would have used something different but I had an extra sheet left over from a different project. The problem I had with the MDF...

    2002 suburban

Build storage boxes that go in place of the seats and use the existing bolts to anchor them in place. The bolts would still be there if you ever wanted to put seats back in and you would have out of the way storage for things you don't use often but want to keep in the rig, tools, recovery...

Build/overland/4x4 stuff: 1989 Raider, 2010 Sequoia, and other projects

Looks good, I agree with you that some rigs just look better with round lights. Light bars are nice and all but seem out of place on older stuff. I originally put a light bar on my WJ but immediately took it off and put some cheap-o Amazon round lights on and it looks much better. I've never...

    Powder coating or bed liner

Powder coating is really nice and durable until you use your rock sliders as rock sliders. It holds up a bit better than paint but will end up scratched off by rocks and can't be touched up easily. Going the route of DIY bedliner like mentioned above is a better option if you think you'll be...

    Affordable sleeping pad?

I second the idea of throwing down a harbor freight moving blanket for some added insulation. I use them when camping in a tent or out of my WJ but put a pad on top. For the pad I've really liked the Klymit Static V, they aren't the cheapest but they pack up small and I think they are...

    The Tri-Cities Clubhouse

That was a fun trail, had a good time. Not sure I'll be able to make the upcoming backroads trip but let me know if you have any day trip/ trail runs coming up.

    Phone and tablet holder recommendations

Bulletpoint Mounting solutions makes pretty good stuff. I've been buying them the last few years for our farm pickups and they hold up. Took me a while to find a good phone holder that would keep your phone in place on really wash board roads and going into pivots, the ones they have that...

    bulletpoint mount question

You will probably need to get one of the adapters to switch to the different size balls, Ram, Bulletpoint or amazon should have them. I use a lot of the Bulletpoint mounts and I think they are great, but have run into the same problem with different sized balls and had to adapt to use other...

US Northwest Eastern Washington Off Road: Naches Ranger District Overland Trip

I might be up for that. I haven't had the Jeep out since last year so I will need to do a little work to it this week but I'll check it out tonight and see if I can have it ready for this weekend. What time are you heading out and are you camping up there or just a day trip?

US Northwest Eastern Washington Off Road: Naches Ranger District Overland Trip

I was up that direction (kind of) this past weekend, camped at Lost meadows but didn't bring the Jeep since the other rigs coming bailed on us last minute. Really wanting to get back up there with the Jeep and cruise around. Being a mid week trip and that we'll be digging potatoes not sure...

    Wanted - KS/MO - Jeep WJ Wheel(s) - $ - Local

Sounds good, I'm not really in a hurry to get rid of them so they'll probably sit in the shed for another 4 years. Saw you were looking for some and thought I'd offer. If you ever make it out this way or have a line on someone that is, let me know, I might still have them.
