I am running with a couple PanaVise dash brackets that are AMPS compatible. One of them has a PanaVise phone mount. The phone mount is decent but it is too easy to not secure my phone fully, especially on rough roads/trails.

What have found that works well? I am also planning to add a holder for an 8 to 10 inch tablet to the second bracket, although it is working pretty well as a clip-on point for handheld ham radios.

I am a big fan of the Quad Lock mount system, especially when coupled with RAM mounts. I've been running a Quad Lock mount with wireless charging on my dual sport motorcycle for 5 years for my phone and have recently moved to their magnetic system for my Land Cruiser. Their system does require you use their proprietary case for you device and is more spendy that other mount systems, but it is worth it to me.

I don't believe Quad Lock has a tablet mount, but I have had good results with the RAM tablet holder for my Samsung tablet.

I've got a Ram mount. You're better off fabbing something custom.

It bounces around. And they always lack vertical adjustment.

Good for fleets, where we swap vehicles out every 3 years. Kinda lame for a truck you'll be keeping for a decade.

Bulletpoint Mounting solutions makes pretty good stuff. I've been buying them the last few years for our farm pickups and they hold up. Took me a while to find a good phone holder that would keep your phone in place on really wash board roads and going into pivots, the ones they have that squeeze the phone on the sides is great and I've never lost a phone out of it. You could get the ball mount with the 4 screw plate and one of their phone holders and attach that to the panavise plate. For a tablet mount I run the Ram mounts X one (don't remember the real name). It's worked great and is really secure, I have it screwed into the top of the dash in my WJ using the 4 screw plate and then a 6" arm so the tablet is right above the stereo.
