    Overlanding with a Honda Ridgeline

Run what you got. I'd get rid the P rated street tires and get something stronger for off road use. There are lift kits available for the Ridgeline. A bed rack for a RTT . Perhaps airbags in the rear for the extra weight of a RTT and camping stuff. Should be a fun project . Good luck

Cargo straps? Who is using what?

I have several of these that have been in the brutal El Paso sun without fail. https://www.harborfreight.com/1000-lbs-capacity-1-12-in-x-10-ft-ratcheting-tie-down-straps-4-pk-61303.html

Cargo straps? Who is using what?

Up to the individual on what they want to spend and the associated value of their cargo. Harbor Freight makes some good straps. A large spare tire tire would be better secured with a large ratchet straps than with a smaller Frontrunner strap .

Cargo straps? Who is using what?

I like the Frontrunner Stratchits as well. Roc Straps are good too.

2020 Trip Planning - Texas to Tuktoyaktuk

First, I'd make sure that the adults always carry bear spray and the children and the dog not allowed to wander out of sight . The kids could all get a small air horn they could use for signaling and for possible bear protection. I always walked around each campsite to look for recent bear...

    Mountain House Meals

I always have a few Mountain House meals on a trip for those nights that are cold and wet and I don't feel like cooking a meal. You can't go wrong with them.

2020 Trip Planning - Texas to Tuktoyaktuk

It is very easy to calculate the distances between fuels stops. What is your mileage loaded down with the trailer? 10MPG ? I think our longest distance without a fuel stop was on the Robert Campbell Highway approx 362 miles . I believe you can get gas at Ross River and Faro but we never...

You can get water at Tombstone, Eagle Plains and Inuvik. Inuvik has a nicely stocked liquor store and the supermarket is not too bad.

2020 Trip Planning - Texas to Tuktoyaktuk

As for COMMS, I never heard anyone else on the HAM , Seems most people were using a CB but mine went bad early on in the trip. I used my InReach to send location updates to friends so they could see where we were. I also used the InReach to send a reservation e-mail to the Aurora Hotel in...
