I have started to build a new camper with overlanding in mind. Its going to be a bit on the larger side since I want to fit a family of 4 in it. But I am in North Dakota and it's pretty wide open here. The plan is for the camper to have a 6x10 foot print, and 5' tall with a full size bed inside and bunk beds for my 2 and 4 year old, down the road its possible to add a rooftop camper for them to sleep in. There will be a tinyrear galley which will be for storage and electrical. This should optimize the interior space. Upfront I plan to create a slide out kitchen on the tongue.
This would be used for weekend trips with the family, solo exploration and mountain bike trips, etc.
This is my second build so i have some experience, my first build was a 5x10 teardrop camper that was 4' high with a large kitchen galley. My wife and I tooled around it and eventually rented it out on RV Share and sold it to the last person that rented it right before we had our first daughter.
I am excited to use what I had learned and work on this bulid over the winter.
I do wish I would have documented the first build on youtube so i decided to document ths one. My channel is RyanAndersonHQ
I am also documenting it on a personal blog. ryanandersonhq.com
I will also be posting progress photos here as I miss having build threads, its been many years since I documented something in a forum, but since I am not on social media this is a great place to s hare with like minded people.
