Las Vegas to Zion NP Bound

Dinner places are now all over Springdale, you really cannot go wrong. The Mexcian place on the right side as you leave the park with the outdoor patio was really great. Narrows, bring two hiking poles or rent two, not the wood stick. Rent the water shoes, and socks. Worth every penny. Watch the...

    SVO ....Small Vehicle Overlanding

My Nissan Rogue was rated at 33 mpg highway, and it would get that driving at 65-70 mph without traffic. Now with the RTT and other add ons I average about 28 to 30 mpg highway depending on speed and traffic. I am really happy with that. So much of my driving is on road. Even loaded up for...

Front runner Slimline II Roof rack

So I thought I post close up of the mounting systems for the rack. The awning lights are on standard accessory mounts. I modified these with T bolts and thumb knobs so I can slide them over the length of the rack. I added eye hooks to mount light rope across the length of the awning that will...

Anyone have recommendations for Good quality Cloth seat covers?

A few years ago, I went with Shear Comfort, which were highly rated. I was VERY disappointed. Poor fit, faded, did not wear well, hard to clean. I now have CalTrend, but I go plather. VERY Happy with these. Really good fit and finish. I would check their web site.

    Dry ice

I have been using dry ice for a long time. I now have an RTIC 45 cooler and it works great. For this I will use a chunk about the size of two fists. On top of this I load up ice. You really don't need to do much after that other than crack the cooler about every 48 hours. Mike G aboves mentions...

Front runner Slimline II Roof rack

Yes, they are the factory side rail roof rack that came with my Rogue. I had to take the factory cross bars off to use the front runner rack.

I hope this helps, Nissan Rogue, which should have a similar factor rack as yours.

    Dash Mounts

Mob Armor, mag mounts. Clean, easy, holds perfectly. I use the ones with magnetic mounts at both ends. This gives me the ability to remove them and just have a metal plate of the dash. This is important for me as my 85 pound German Shepherd often sits in the front seat. If he knocks into one it...

    Living "off grid"....

Good tank lockation. I am guessing 7,500 to 10,000 gallons. Hard to tell witho0ut being there. Now where is the well? Nothing is more important than that.

    Living "off grid"....

I have assessed several of these types of properties. In CA the well is critical, and every aspect of it. Water quality, recharge rate, ownership, water rights to it. That is the number one most important thing you need info on, and to know what to ask and look for. Get it tested before any...

Camping in Red Rocks outside Vegas

Valley of Fire, about 40 outside Vegas on the way to CA. There are two sections. The front section generally flat holds camp sites and RV camp sites. Back half site are in the large rock, really nice if you can find one. Toward the front camp sites there are nice showers and bathrooms. Bring...
