    Cold weather sleeping bag recommendation

Yeah, I have the older woodland one. The ACU one is the slightly larger one. The only way to tell by looking at it is the color/camo. The older smaller systems have the black and green bags with the woodland bivy, and the newer larger systems have the grey and foliage bags with the ACU bivy...

    Cold weather sleeping bag recommendation

Do you have the older one with the woodland camo outer bivvy? The newer ones we got issued are a few inches wider and a few inches longer. Doesn't sound like much, but it makes a big difference. I have the woodland one, but have been thinking about getting a newer one for the extra room. I...

+1 for the army sleep system. Best bag I've ever had.

Front Runner footwell water tank: JK Unlimited

I'm curious to see what you've experienced with these. I've looked at them for my Xterra, but it is currently on my "one of these days" list.

    Social media..

I use Facebook mostly. I just started on Instagram a few weeks ago, seems kinda fun so far. I don't have anything posted on YouTube yet, but I watch a lot of other people's stuff.

    Military overlanding.

We were primarily HMMWV based, but we got a couple of MaxxPros for our last few months in Iraq. Never really liked them. Damn things always felt like they were gonna roll. That's a nice shot. And yeah, I know what you mean. '09-'10 for me, so coming up on that mark myself.

    Going Off Brand...

Agreed. I have far too many expensive hobbies, so I have to balance things out by going off brand whenever possible. As mentioned above though, there are definitely things you don't want to cheap out on.

    Going Off Brand...

I saw a review on coolers a couple of months ago that compared Ozark Trails, RTIC, and Yeti (along with one or two others, I think). While the Ozark Trails didn't perform quite as well as RTIC and Yeti, it still did really well and is the least expensive of the three. Kept ice for several...

2018 NW Overland Rally Discussion and Planning - 06/28/2018

Registration is open, now just waiting to hear if my wife can get the time off. For those who have gone before, do they put you in specific spaces, or can people arriving together park next to each other?

    Post Your Overlanding Christmas Gifts

I haven't had a chance to use mine yet. The wife and I have been going back and forth with being sick, so we haven't felt up to playing in the snow.

    Communication: On the Road

I'm currently running CB, and I have a pair of FRS handhelds. I'd like to go HAM, and will sometime this year, but it's not a priority at the moment. I had my first CB in high school in the mid-80s. There was a lot more radio traffic back then, of course, and most of my friends had them. Had...
