Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
@ArkansasDon does some great stuff! His last trailer that he sold was a beauty!
I can totally relate to having the trailer set up as basecamp and just being able to go-it's so convenient!
Gobi's wait time and their lack of responding is a HUGE turnoff, but I really like their racks. Looking...
So you're wanting to go the trailer route, and now I'm thinking I want to go to roof rack and Freespirit Adventure Series hardshell power tent. What are you thinking of doing for a trailer? I do really like my Morris Mule trailer, but I want the option to not have to take the trailer and still...
I really wanted to do lockers, but knowing myself and where I go, I just couldn't justify it. I'll never be able to "outperform" my vehicle anyway lol. And I agree about the gearing. I didn't realize what I was missing, and now I'm thankful I did it for sure.
Yea, mud tires on the street...
@itsdchz , thank you so much for the positive post on Expo West! Sounds like the new event organizers put all of their resources in the right place and put together a great event! Even more excited for Expo East now!
It wasn't me. I didn't trust cutting into my own hood:tearsofjoy:!
I had OCD Offroad in Stafford, VA do all the work. Great group of guys, and great work! They stuck to their original quote, did a great job on the installation of everything, and finished right on time.
I've only ever had mine on gravel and forest roads as well, with very minor rocky terrain. It does fine, but obviously gets bounced around quite a bit. Have fun on your Mont Radar trip!
I got my Jeep back last week after getting the re-gear to 4.88's. Still in the break-in period but so far it feels MUCH nicer! No more hunting between gears and it feels so much better with my normal around-town driving as well. Can't wait to get past the break-in and see what it really feels...
Remember those family trips when we(some of us!) were kids in the wood-sided station wagons? No 4x4 there! Like others said, just go where you're comfortable exploring, and don't get into any situations that you'll end up regretting. It's definitely not necessary. More of a luxury than...
Welcome @gschlossnagle ! There's definitely a fair number of MD/DC/VA members on here. Mid-Atlantic area is represented pretty well. With that said, did you see that Overland Expo East is actually in VA this year? Definitely worth going to! Tons of vendors, and the best part is the on-site...
Yep, I knew it wouldn't last long! Great looking setup, great build, and a totally fair price = quick sale! Looking forward to seeing the next one Don!
You'll definitely find a ton of threads on this subject, and I would bet that every single one of them has an overwhelming amount of positive responses for the Tembo Tusk Skottle! I personally have one as well, and absolutely love cooking on it. It's a large cooking area, and gives you the...
