Guest, we will be conducting site maintenance this week and some downtime is expected. At this time Rally Point and the Member Map will also become an app-only feature for long-term security and stability. A few days after this maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
Reading this conversation, allowed me to update my phone with a new app.

After our campfire conversation last night, I'm sold on getting a GMRS license for Canada trips, etc. even though I use all the...
While i have all the bases covered, i do not have my ticket yet. For those that don't, you could just monitor any group instructions, and use your CB for personal or vehicle to vehicle communication, with a agreed upon channel.
This truck is awesome. It has every basic component. It has the ability out of the gate, for even the most discriminating off-roader. As they said, tire size upgrade seems to be the only area for up-sizing, and that for only the hard core driver.
Found it interesting about how long the...
My 2003 HD just has a minimum of protection offerings. That plastic deflector underneath is gone if it ever tangles with a rock. Newer 2012+ Silverado's offer a few more options, even a snorkel from 1 company. But Chevy overall seems to be the stepchild of offered options. I found 1 company...
Thank You. I'm still learning to navigate the forum. Oregon has such a diverse landscape. I really liked 3 sisters when i passed thru. Stayed at the hotel that looks like it was built with logs. Very quaint and rustic.
I have seen flax-seed oil available in small bottles(plastic) at the $dollar store. These are just the right travel size for your chuck box. Also veg/olive if you prefer other oils. I plan to try the flax-seed oil on my cast iron pans, especially my griddle, as that needs the most hope and care.
Another vote for smaller travel sizes, as i rarely have used 1 up before the trip ends. Between condiment packs and smaller squeeze bottles, i have had it covered. Bring a hot sauce bottle and all bases are covered.
These are some really good ideas. I like the idea of a smaller 20-24 inch size pit, which allows a more controlled heat, and allows people to snuggle closer to the source, without cooking themselves. Put a grate across it, and you have room for 2 pans.
Was going to put it in a alcove area in...
While a 50 qt. seems to be adequate, i keep looking at 65 qt. size fridges, just to have the option for a week plus in the back-country. Make it a 'dual-zone' and i think your covered for 2-4 people for that amount of time. The outer dimension footprint is not that much greater. I like ice...
I have a refurbished griddle that i resurrected from the dead(rust), a 15 year old dutch oven, that is finally becoming seasoned, and my big score from my mom, a 8 inch fry pan that is at least
from the 1920's (90 years old) that she received from her grandmother...
I have never used a wok outside, but have thought about it. In the kitchen i now use a nice non stick model with a rubber handle. This replaced a mild steel/wood handle cheapie that i used extensively for years. This aluminum non stick model is so much better.
As others have mentioned, it is a...
