Guest, we will be conducting site maintenance this week and some downtime is expected. At this time Rally Point and the Member Map will also become an app-only feature for long-term security and stability. A few days after this maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
We need some KO3 UPDATE REVIEWS. Michel with your driving history..what is your continuing input, now that you have some mileage on them?
For others, if you have them....please chime in.
Balance issues....mounting(How much balance wt.)...staying in balance
Tread issues...chunking?
Punctures...
I quoted another poster and made a attempt at humour....for the poster who just wanted to use a 5 gallon Jerry can as the end all for fire starting. I believe he was also making a stab at humor.:smile::smile::smile::smile:
Being able to get a fire going can be life or death. It also...
Aluminum or steel, I would just like better protection under my truck. Sticks...limbs...small rocks, the aluminum would work. Now steel would be best for that long gap between the cross members on each end of my Allison transmission.
Some companies offer aluminum with the caveat of being...
Roof rack....please give details.
Size dims
How many rack to roof feet attachments
How it attaches.....screw...bolt...rivit?
Brand
Price
Etc.......
How do you like it's quality....paint/powder coating
Accessory gear and brackets
Would you do anything different, if starting over? I have a...
Mmm... interested in their wearability on heavier rigs. My understanding is better on lighter rigs,....... too soft (sidewalls) that need higher PSI pressure to work correctly on heavier full size rigs.
If your leaning towards a BULL BAR BUMPER....check total weight. They are not all created equal. Heavier does not mean stronger. The design of the winch pocket is more important.
ALSO....only a couple are airbag compatible. Something else....yes ELSE...is how many bolts are used in the...
CUTE. .... AND AS MENTIONED....OVERKILL. but tongue in cheek....a bit of truth. You just have to be real careful and only use for a initial ...COLD start.
Tinder...vasaline cotton balls...magnesium.....strike anywhere matches. This and other methods are much safer.
Also to...
This....it's all about DRAG
With tires it's rolling resistance.
With undercarriage...it's airflow.
Having a diesel engine will mitigate to a point the above observations. This is due to the torque they have which counteracts the drag applied.
On another note....it's nice to know that SKID...
From my understanding, a,9500 lb winch is about as big as you can mount with over the counter mounts. Part of that is also because of the shear strength of the mounting pin. Most reciever hitch systems are not built for high power winch applucations. triangulation and box construction are what...
Mmm....At or mud......???
Daily driver...dual use?
Dedicated weekend warrior?
Ran 2 sets of BFG muds.....noise did not bother me. Liked tbem.....but treadwear is way less than their AT version.
AT's WILL LAST A LOT LONGER. You can also find aggressive AT tires which bridge the gap between...
Bull Bar Bumpers like the ARB, HAVE A DESIGNED IN .....cooling channel behind where a license plate is mounted. A plate will block about half of the area, but still allow air flow. You can also get a plate farm that snaps into a roller fairlead.
I live in the desert. And I bought the ARB for...
How about a bigger SIM card. Most now will support a 32 gig card or a bit bigger (64?). This way you get hours of recording...AND...the video quality you want to keep[emoji2]
Just check for size compatibility on the unit.
This is the exact senament I have. If 85% of what you encounter will be covered.....why oh why would you spend 3 x the cash for a marginal 15%. Unless your....ALWAYS using them....ALL THE TIME...I can not see the justification for such a large outlay.of cash. I posted on another thread about...
I thought Chrysler had fixed tbe transmission problems of the past? I had also read that depending on trim and weight class of truck, that you could/Have a 2nd transmission choice that was much stouter (stronger). I want to ,say the ASIAN...but don't quote me on that.
The RAM HAS gained in...
I wish Chevy had the support that
FORD/RAM did. At least they have that in Australia. There you can get all types of body armor...slider chouces..and other vehicle specific gear.
Full size rigs are the step children....I believe that is ever so slowly changing. When you look at GM, SKID...
I have 2 foot long pieces of HD 'orange' PVC type of tubing used for underground wirng. Very crush proof, and waterproof, unlike a rolled magazine. and yes,......taking the extra minute to do as the illustration picture shows is both the wise move and your safest move. A hard shackle is a...
Please eloaborate on a ISOLATOR for the GM/Chevy trucks. I have a 2003 Duramax, and before that a 1985 F150 4x4 that i added a isolated dual battery system that allowed me to jump the starter battery from the aux. battery. There has been 2 times that my batterys went flat in my Silverado, along...
ARB has finally offered a dedicated....bolt on recovery point for Toyota's 4 runner and Tacoma. They are not cheap....but address the inadequacies of these vehicles tow and shipment hooks. In Australia you can get left and right side recovery points that are not available here. And these are...
This thread is...EPIC.
The pictures presented are fantastic. The gamut from the little simple shot....to the grand Vista's. From the deserts of the world to the highest mountains.
This has become one of my favorite OP threads. It seems to take so many of us on a world tour. We get to go on...
